Just a last minute lead paragraph I forgot to write. This morning at the breakfast table I got what I think was a clear Revelation that President Obama will not survive his second term but will in fact be assasinated. This will put to rest the need for the President to ever think about "What am I going to do once I leave office". If I didn't feel this message wasn't relevent- - I wouldn't be leading this post with it.
This is Friday August
9, 2013 and the 49th anniversary of when President Nixon resigned
the Presidency. Something he said was “contrary
to every instinct in my body”.
Obviously not “contrary enough” not to do it and face impeachment and
removal. But as in the case of the Big
Banks and others in High Places- - that Magic Hand is invoked and the man is
pardoned. As you know I was trying to
decide between Ross Perot and George Bush in 1992 to vote for and I was kind of
leaning twords Bush, when I heard that Casper Weinburger got indicted for
contra-gate and I switched to Perot for good.
This was only to learn that President Clinton pardoned all those
unindicted people in Iran Contra. Now we
have a case involving the NYPD where a cop was answering a call that turned out
to be a false report- - of some marijuana situation- - and this guy named
Graham retreated into his bathroom and the door was kicked in and they shot the
guy dead. The officer was brought up on
indictment for the shooting and was facing a lot of prison time when lo and
behold- - the indictment was “thrown out” and Moe Kelly did not say why or
how. But he noted that the only officer
seemingly to ever have an indictment stick was that guy responsible for the
death of Kelly Thomas, who as we all know was a white guy. We always hear the same stories of “He was
reaching for his waist band”. Here’s a
suggestion- - even if that is true- - why not wait a half a second and look to
see if he really has a gun before you execute him. But as you know there are certain key cop
phrases that people like Zimmerman know how to use such as “He’s running” or “He
was reaching for his waste band”. Then
it was “he was reaching for my gun” or “he had one hand around my throat and
the other around my nose” or “he was slamming my head into the concrete over
and over”. I think the adage is true is
that there are many versions of a lie, but the Truth has a certain singularity
about it. A guy in Miami was being
chased and got tazed to death. Here’s
another suggestion. Once the guy is down
don’t keep tazing him till he dies. And
the question needs asking as far as minorities are concerned- - which is safer-
- being in the deep ocean with a shark within sight- - or a hungry bear going
through your ice chest- - or a pit bull – or a doverman- - or facing a white
police officer? I think minorities
themselves know the answer to that one.
Moe Kelly reports that in the freshman dorm building of his college they
were doing a major meth selling operation and nobody did a thing about it. But even if marijuana is still an arrestable
crime in some areas, it should not carry the death penalty without benefit of
trial by jury.
There was a Christian
pastor on the Stephanie Miller show on this morning. And he spoke of how all these Republican
congressmen are privately in favor of the immigration bill that is pending House
passage. But that these Republican
congressmen are “risk averse” and are “afraid of taking risks” even if Jesus
mandates that we all “work for the common good”, which in this case would be to
pass the Immigration bill. I think Brian
A once “justified” why I was perhaps given the cold shoulder by people (and now
I don’t even remember who) because he said “some people are afraid of taking
Risks”. I felt rather insulted by the
remark, because I never saw myself as some kind of “liability” or a “drain on
someone’s psyche” or whatever else it was he was trying to imply. Keep in mind that even when the democrats
ruled, that in the senate they could kill any pending bill by a vote of just
forty percent of the Senate –which may have represented perhaps ten percent of
the population of the US in red states.
In like manner you’ll remember that democratic congressmen received more
votes last November than did Republicans but they still lost due to
jerrymandering. As you well know - - it’s
been calculated that all those extra workers paying taxes and FICA and the
like- - along with added buying power- - will have the effect of Reducing the
national deficit and stimulating the US economy. So that these nay sayers in the Republican
House- - fear of being “primaried by a tea party candidate” indeed SHOULD prove
that they are “Good Christians” and practice their FAITH and vote FOR this
immigration bill. It will serve them
sell in the end, and morally they will be doing the right thing. You know how skewed to the right we are now
when Governor Christie is referred to as “the progressive Republican candidate
who can’t win”. Christie is verently
anti teacher and anti union and anti a lot of other things- when it comes to
the “social issues”. It’s a symptom of
our sick times that Rand Paul and Ted Cruise are considered viable candidates.
Howard Dean apparently
has come out against the Affordable Care act, and some say he even run against
Hillary Clinton on this issue in 2016.
Dean is himself a physician and he claims that the profits of both
doctors and insurance companies will be cut injuriously by the bill. But it is also pointed out that in so many
other “developed countries” they take both health care and a college education
for granted. The idea of a college
graduate being two hundred thousand dollars in dept to the government- - going
out the gate- - would be an absurdity.
That’s a good three years future salary, and that’s thinking
optimistically. China has leaped way
ahead of us on the environmental front, I’m told, because contrary to what the Right
says about China, they are genuinely concerned about Global Warming. Governor Christie was for ecological
measures, before he was against them. It
also seems that on the whole gay acceptance issue- - our country is bringing up
the rear. Of course a lot of people
including Me- - have accused those “Contenentals” over there across the sea-
-of all being just a little “light in the loafers” so to speak. Of course we could talk about other issues
such as internet privacy, or gun regulations to show there the United States is
way behind the times. And frankly one
issue where I have had a genuine change of heart in the past decade or so is
this whole need to “Get the money out of the political system- - both in
lobbying and in campaigns”. At the
outset of 2000 I would have been right in there saying “I believe that we
exercise our opinions with our wallets and that the campaign able to attract
the greatest monetary funding is by virtue of “survival of the fittest” the
most deserving to elected”. Needless to
say- - I don’t believe that anymore.
There are so many
stories I woke up with this morning.
Last night I had this dream where I dreamed that Joshua had a son, that
is that son of M & P and the grandparents had the seven or eight year old
boy over at their house (which is not like any house M & P actually lived
in) I woke depressed just thinking of
how everyone I knew in Christianity back then got happily married with kids and
grand kids, and I just resented the fact that “God had passed me by” so to
speak. Then I went down to the med room bethinking
the Celexa would cure that momentary mind set.
You know some people- - and you know the suspects- - people like Linda
Hammer or Bill Gunderson - - - when you first see them they are really mentally
messed up. Yet I think Bill Gunderson for
one has been drug free for a long time now.
It doesn’t bother him that he never got married- - even once- - or that
he has no kids. Because “He is a success
in his own mind’ so to speak. It’s funny
though because the more “successful” or “normal” he is- - the less science
fiction writing he does and the last few times I’ve asked him about it- - it’s
vaguely indicated he’s bored with the whole idea now. It’s almost as if he was using science
fiction stories as kind of a stop gap measure till he again found happiness in
the real world, and there is of course whether I should “go thow and do
likewise”. Strangely there are times
when I think my insane writing ramblings are the only thing that is keeping me
same. It’s as if to use a financial
analogy that Christianity and my relation with it represents the whole Wall
Street scandal of 2008 and the experience emotionally bankrupted me- - and that
my writings represent a President Bush infusion of funds to keep me
afloat. It could be argued that drinking
helped fill the “void’ in my life left by the damage Christianity had
done. There is something else that
happened just this morning that is illustrative of something. We you know we had oatmeal this morning. And everybody else was getting two waffles
and a sausage including the other three people at my table. I looked around the room - - and almost
everyone else had theirs. Finally Paul
Evans called to Roxanne and gave her a whole plate of waffles and syrup
packets. Minus the sausage. But I said “I still haven’t gotten my plate”. So she gave me her plate and she took Paul
Evans and company’s empty plate as her own and we divied up the waffles and I
got three. But I never did receive my
own plate. Just as with God and the
Church “I never did receive my own blessings”.
Any “blessings” I ever got were kind of “under the table” affairs.
