"Government By Crises" Continues

Well the era of "government by crisis" continues right literally through "The Eleventh Hour' with no sign of movement either by the Republicans or the President on the Sequester of funds issue.  Neither side is at all inclined to budge an inch to compromise.  But need I remind you that I am personally fermilir with this sort of 'government by - - manufactured crisis" scenario plays itself out in my family with Me in that they will just suddenly Say something is "a crisis" so they can go into panic mode or whatever and freak me out.  I'm not in panic mode.  We'll get through this one way or another.  Clearly the Republican Party is becoming out of touch with the main stream of America.  But what continues to worry me is that prominent governors such as in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio are these right wing tea-bagger Republicans who enact these right wing draconian, and in many cases I believe- unconstitutional laws.  But if this isn't a "Do nothing congress" than Harry Truman is going to have to apologise to the 1947-48 congress, because compared to this current one, that one was a wherll wind of productivity.  This current Congress has been in session seven weeks and they have exactly ten logged days actually at the Capitol doing their jobs conducting the business of the country.  Forget the high pay checks, I'd be happy is they didn't keep adding weeks at a time of vacation time- - when there is clearly a vast backlog of work to be done.  What other employer do you know would put up with this crap from any employee if he could help it.  You and I both know an employee who is told "there is a lot of work that needs to get done right now" will be asked to Give Up vacation time and work nights and weekends and take that business trip he was promised he wouldn't have to do.  Then of course we have the polling numbers where Congress is at 11% approval and the Castro government of Cuba is at nine percent.  John Boehner can put that in his pipe and smoke it.  Ashley Judd polled 51% in Kentucky for Senate to Mitch Mc Conell's 49% and this poll was conducted by the Mc Conell forces themselves.  On the issues those in favor of blocking gay mrriage in the Supreme Court received a major setback today when people from John Huntsman to Meg Whitman signed a petetion saying they favored full gay marriage.  I don't make the news; I just report it.  Clearly they have done a lot of polls on economic blame and global warming and social issues- - and the Republicans come up short every time.  This has to be worrying them down the line if they have a rational bone in their bodies at all.  Then there is this whole Britebart web site.  Never has a dead guy deserved more undeserved honors.  At least four senators have engaged in Joseph Mc Carthy type tacticts to try and impugn the reputations of honorable men.  Some people try to outsmart themselves.  How often do you hear someone trying to be "nice" speaking of someone they despize saying "I only have pity for you" or "I'm sorry for you" or "Your pathetic".  I can think of a lot of despicable people whom I don't feel sorry for at all- - and I'll admit it.

Randy Rhodes is making a good case against Sequester saying that in the end it will cost vital jobs and throw people into unemployment, costing the covernment more money that way.  Also if you eliminate corporate tax loopholes- you will “spare” those corporations from having to spend all that money hiring accountants to find those loopholes.  Rather there should be deductions for research and development to improve the product, which is a concept that is the last thing Mitt Romney would think of.  I thank God at times all the arguments I’ve been spared over the past two months from conversations I have NOT had with Judy, which in the end would have proved pointless, what with her unfair arguing techniques.  The Republicans are going to elaborate measures to avoid doing the right thing and instituting the Warren Buffet rule and other common sense tax measures to insure that the newly instituted tax rates can’t be skirted around with cleaver accounting techniques.  But the EST people warn of the “Reasonable equals Rightness thought-pattern vicious circle, for which the only cure is to abandon all such thinking.  I think the most concise summation of the whole situation was saying that "Basically what the Democrats want to do is to give you a tax break with anything such as gasoline perhaps in getting to and from your appointed work - - that is - what you do for a living - - earning your daily bread - - bringing home the bacon.  The Republicans want to protect the business meeting - - the three martini lunch where you make business deals probably clouded by the judgement of all that alcohol.  Don't get me started on John Boehner.  Part of the problem is that when Republicans use the term "special interest" the more proper term would be "general interest".  This would refer to putting more money generally into people's hands - - and mainstreaming the poor and those part time people who are already living on the economic margins - - and mainstreaming them into becoming part of the middle class.  Here is an example that came to me this morning.  Many Christians such as Neil Savedra are constandly talking about "the wisdom of God' and "Trusting him to know best", when such talk and thinking is directly contrary to the way they handle the rest of their lives where they don't trust anybody as far as they could throw a bowling ball on Jupiter.  Yet when it comes to this President- - unlike with the things of God where they have fundamentally NO Evidence- - they will suddenly impute the worse and most cinister motives to anything he may endeavor to do, and even in the face of positive proof the President's measures are working- - they will balk.   Rush Limbaugh has often alledged that "The liberals- - more than wanting to soak the rich seem hell bent on the idea that the left has this "economic revenge" agenda- - and even if the poor have to pay and pay that somehow if they see the rich also struggling - it will make it allright.  So Rush would say that "The liberals don't care if they make everyone poor just as long as the poor can point with pride that the rich are suffering".  But ironically this whole perverse line of thinking- - is the exact same psychology that Neil Savedra brings to religion.  For instance- - Jerusalem getting wiped out by the Romans in AD 70.  Whether you are a pentacostal or a do gooder liberal pastor, or a Nazi or a KKK member- - at least you can all agree that this conquest WAS indeed a Disaster.  Not Neil Savedra.  He would say "Well this disaster Wasn't a Bad thing- - because some hypothetical individual may appear on the scene, some Oscar Schlinder of his day- - who would valliently protect key Jews from arrest or slaughter- - or else open his home to the poor and the disposessed or what all.  And Neil would conclude "What a pity it would be if this tradgedy did NOT take place- - because in his perverse thinking then that - - strictly hypothetical "brave and vallient man" would NEVER be made manifest, and that would be just horrible,  and of course (so the reasoning continues) GOD himself would be too Dumb to Know in Advance whom the Brave and Vallient persons would be in a tradgedy.

Cardinal Mahoney has spent a lot of money to stonewall the victims of sex crimes, and if he is covering up crimes now that should be prosecuted, he is guilty of obstruction of justice.  There was a British Cardinal under suspicion for trying to pick up gay men or something after hours – but he had the decency to recruise himself, but Cardinal Mahoney won’t.  If he’s going into the Conclave in a spiritually impure condition- he is committing a sin before God.  Think about it.  You know how on the soap opera now Nick Fallon was held up to be such a dishonorable man - - because he would not divulge a secret which as far as I'm concerned was strictly on a "Need to know" basic, and Father Eric didn't "need to know".  You have to undergo what Rush has referred to as a psychological "proctology exam" by the Church before they can trust you enough to let you get married- - when half of them are gay to begin with.  It's like Arlo Guthrie musing about whether he's morally upright enough to go out and burn women and children's villages and bayonette people to death - - after being a litter bug.  But the thing is they call it a Holy Conclave.  That sounds like tall spiritual cotton to me.  You have to be morally pure before God to enter therein.  They Pray about their decision on the next Pope.  And I do believe there is a verse or two in the Bible that goes "We know God does not hear the prayers of sinners"  (you can argue with me on this later)  So before going any further perhaps they should excercise one of the Nine Spiritual Gifts- - that of spiritual Discernment- - and- - first of all decide whether their Eye is clear lest a bean be found in it- - that they may see clearly to perform the spiritual micro surgery in selecting the next Pontiff to represent the Body of Christ on earth.

We had chicken teriyaki in a bowl for dinner and I dumped the rice into it to have one of those nice Yoshenoya teriyaki dishes.  There were mixed vegetables.  We missed seconds which began on the other side, as they did with the soup at lunch.  Irvin saying “Have faith” was useless.  Janet gave me a cup of coffee about 5:25 and she also let me has a cinnamon pastry from the bakery while I waited, and she also gave me an orange juice.  She then announced I would be charged a quarter for one of the cigarettes, and Bill would be too.  I got a cigarette from James right them- just after sunset- and I had another white cigarette from James now just after seven thirty.  Right after dinner I had the final Swiss Miss.  I think the added calcium actually helps with resisting the urge for a cigarette.  It was the ABC network news and Jeopardy and I left after Final Jeopardy.  They said that it got up to 71 today but around here I don’t believe we made that, at least in the shade.  But we registered two degrees above “normal”.  The Dodgers won their first game of spring training today, and it seems to me as if we are rushing spring a bit.  I’m going to keep Mt Rainier up a few more days for the wallpaper before switching as I customarily do, to the red “Poppies”.   Hopefully I’ll catch a little of Mike Meloy on tonight.  “Wheel of Fortune” is on now.   I don’t think I trust that Wendy lady.  My “little man” tells me once she gets into office she’ll prove to be a closet tea party conservative, though I have no evidence to back that up.  I won’t be posting today since there was absolutely no movement on dealing with the Sequester situation in congress.  I don’t see why is John Boehner has what he regards as all these constructive ideas why he doesn’t just push his own bill through congress, if the senate will approve it, and then it will be up to the President to sign the thing – or not, and then the President can rightly be accused of obstructionism in not preventing the sequestration measures from coming into effect.  I guess I told you that that “Goldfinger” lady represed a live performance of the original song last night.  I guess she pulled it off half way decently.

On the soap opera Christine is making up a lie about Stephano being ill to get Brady to move into the Di Mira mansion.  The problem is even given those perameters if it were me or any normal. Person we would say “You know, if you’re going to get pushy on this matter knowing how I and my whole family feel about the Di Miras, then perhaps it’s best we start seeing other people and take a break from each other for a while and come back later and see how we feel.  But as it happens Stephano doesn’t even WANT to come back to Salem now because he’s in the pink of health and has a new lady love he’d like to spend time with.  So he’s inconvieniencing himself just to go along with his daughter’s plan to “get back” at the Bradys for imagined “wrongs”.   The trouble with Samantha is that she so indignently says things like “how many times to I have to say I’m sorry for that” and the obvious answer is “Not enough” because the words are no sooner out of her mouth then she’s back Doing It Again.  (Selah)

When it comes to dead people I've told you about Burt Lombard and Mal Evans- - but me and Stewart Sutcliffe have also had honest "differences of oppinions' on a thing or two.  I think Stu Baby is all too inclined to want to go along with the "nanny state' and make the government the final arbiturs of our Health.  Here is an area where me and Rush Limbaugh are in agreement.  We also disagree about Yoco Ono, and in the past my own oppinion of Yoco has been clouded by the biases of someone who has never even met her- - based on the supposition of spiritual connections with Alcyone and particularly the Lanian connection - - in Yoco's past.  We also disagree about my Romulan friends notibly the one I refer to as F H, which is rather German sounding.  (classified)  Bones tells me that "He's hiding things from you".  Maybe, but he really doesn't strike me as the type, and I've known him a long time.  (some have suggested that Tonny Chong might be a good guy to play him in the movie.  Perhaps that's being too Stereotypical)  And there is another individual whom Stewart reminded me very recently that he "warned me about" and my response to him was "Just don't jinx it", which was a cold and catty thing to say to Stewart and unlike me.  But of course there is James Dobson.  Sometimes you listen to a Nut on the air and you don't realize how nutty he in fact Was till you get away from him for a while.  It's like seeing the cloud of smog roll in when you're driving down the Cajon pass on the way back into San Barnadino after being away from the City for several days.  You realize "- - and I was actually breathing all that stuff".  So now we hear that James Dobson believes that demons can occupy inanimate objects such as a sweater you might buy at the Good Will store.  I haven't heard that one before.  I kept thinking of that Bewitched episode about this antique bed warmer that went missing.  Demons occupying objects is a little too far out for even me.  But James Dobson says it's a good idea to perform some sort of exorcism prayer- - on the things you purchase from a Good Will store.

Myths that Will Not Die

We have a lot on our plates today.  The academy awards are tonight.  Of course a lot of movies, even good ones of a historical nature are above all "Out to tell a good Story" which is what Tim Rice said about Jesus Christ Superstar.  You look at movies line "Lincoln" which omits any reference to Fredrick Douglas, or "Zero Dark Thirty" which appears to glorify torture to gain information- - - or others such as "JFK" or "Wall Street" or "Apocralipse Now" and thest movies too are basically out to "Tell a good story and so things have to be inserted that are perhaps of a non historical nature.  I don't know if we would have it any other way.  Perhaps of all the historical movies- - Schlinder's Life comes to portraying "things as they really were".  This is what Stu Sutcliffe believes, who was pre incarnate pre walk in as a member of the Nazi party then, and knows about their beaurocracy.  We have one of what in my oppinion is one of the four major auto races in this country.  That would be the Daytona 500.  The other three would be the Long Beach Grand Prix, the Detroit Grand Prix and the Indy 500.  There was a major chain reaction crash at the Daytona race track where the lead car tried to cut off the driver next to him from pulling ahead by going over into his lane.  That seems patently unsportsmanlike to me.  It caused a major crash involving about ten cars and injured about thirty people in all, many of whom were spectators as debris flew off into the stands.  But all of the drivers were all-right, and presumably all of them will be racing today.  Today is also George Harrison's birthday.

You know I have thought a lot about about this Sequester of funds thing - - and prayed about it, which you don't often hear me say - - and I am convinced now that fears of disaster are way over-blown.  It may be that the Republicans are right on this one and that the President is just grandstanding and fear mongering, pointing to the worst that could happen.  But as Pete Richards said a few weeks ago "These people have so much extra slush money it'd be a long time before they genuinely missed any of it".  The fact is if you make a deal, you should honor it.  And you really shouldn't make a deal you honestly don't intend in some part of your mind - to follow through with.  It's kind of like "Never point a gun at anybody unless you intend to use it".  So we hear about destroyers not being built or head start kids languishing- - or air traffic controlors being laid off and planes crashing.  You know- - the Executive Branch still has an awful lot of inherent power to control the distribution of funds.  So everybody just chill out.  Everything's going to be all right.  The fact is they started out talking about a ten percent cut.  Then it was eight.  The figures I'm hearing now are three or four.  Anybody can live with that and we've endured a whole lot worse in California.  I've endured a whole lot worse.

George Harrison was born at midnight between February 24th and February 25th.  I have refigured my own (real birthday) to be March 3rd.  Oddly this is the day of one of those Zachery mericals where a dead tree stump- - it had been dead for the eleven or so months I had lived there- - and now it butted new growth.  Some might say "well was there were rain".  We got rain in May of 1976 and the tree stump didn't bud new growth then.  I had a reason for picking February 25th before I even knew it was also George Harrison's birthday.  There is a story my Mom told me on my 42nd birthday in 1992 that in the remote mists of my mind I remember her telling a neurologist I went to in the fifth grade.  I remember filling out the form and there was a thing of "Do you smoke more than three packs of cigarettes a day" and I was thinking "Nobody could Possible do that".  There was another about do you ever get up at night to urinate, and my Mom said 'Just mark that one No".  I remember telling the doctor "I'm a little dirty".  I hadn't bathed but come directly from school.  And my Mom told this same "yarn" about having a perfectly full sized birth on Newyears Eve - - and things were fine.  But lo and behold "nine weeks later" they said "there is something wrong with his eyes".  Yeah, you and Mia Farrow.  And suddenly I was under-developed - - requiring hospitalization - - and the doctors came out with the notice that I would be both blind and severely mental retarded.  Where do they come up with this stuff?  Another Ziggy meracle was the plant miracle.  We had gone off on a trip and Larry was in charge of keeping things watered during a heat wave- - but of course he didn't.  But lo and behold you go into the room Zachery had formerly lived in - - the one with the yellow jungle animal wallpaper  ("Bungle in the Jungle' anyone?)  suddenly the plants had grown and radiated lush and verdent health.  I was flabberghasted.   As an aside they are playing a lot of good George Harrison songs- - many are fractured mash-ups from the "Love' album, and they did play "Cracker-box Palace".

Before we slip into the last paragraph and too many of you nod off in comotose boredom, we have some updates for you.  The LA Lakers beat the Dallas Mavoricks 103 to 99 in a vital road victory.  When it comes to George Harrison day on Breakfast with the Beatles, I didn't hear a bad song all morning.  I would suggest that "All Things Must Pass" would sound a whole lot better if they put out a version without all of the reverb.  Around here I had a psychic impression of spaghetti for lunch before even looking at the posted menu or hearing from anyone.  I turned out to be right.  Relations with Janet have improved remarkably from the absolute Low they hit just about a year ago this week.  She had become quite generous with her resources.  Today she gave me a big cup of - instant - coffee for free and sold me a pack of Swiss Miss for a dollar on credit - - with six packets in it.  If you had to buy so much as one serving out at the bakery or something - - you know how much that would cost.  Relations with Loretta Hill have also thawed finally from the Low they were at last March.  At least she is civil tword me now- - if not exactly warm and fuzzy.  I get to go to the ATM early Friday morning and hopefully Sarah will delay the Wall Mart trip till Friday- - so I can go with them and save eight or even twelve dollars- - I kid you not, and those aren't small potatoes around here.  Dr. Oz says they have a new term for the CO Q 10 enzyme now called "Ubiquinal", which almost seems like a name a doctor would tell small kids to impress them, but apparently it's the real thing.

Let's talk about myths that will not die.  I'm talking about Newton's 2061 end of the world myth where according to his calculations - or so I had once thought - all the laws of gravity would be suspended.  I took this to mean that something happens to the aether that pervades all of space.  But then I read on line somewhere that Newton got this from people studying the Bible and that the whole 2061 date was myth based.  There was one Star Trek I believe that placed Zepherin Cochrin's pioneering in space on the date of 2061, the guy that first invented the warp drive, or was the first Captain to pilot a starship with warp drive anyhow.  This is another of those things I've "thought - - and prayed about".  As you know like that perverbial Mountain in that Donavin song- - first there is an event horizon - - then is no event horizon -  and then there Is.  Let me ask you one question.  How many quotes from Federation people or Stu or whoever- - have you heard from me on the existance of Black Holes.  I'll make it easy for you.  There has virtually never been any talk about Black Holes.  They don't exist in Our World.  But then there is the whole hyperbolic world where an identical object can both Exist and Not Exist at the same time.  Logicians would say it has to be one or the other.  Perhaps.  I told you that something can have an Objective or Absolute Reality - - and lack a provable quantifiable reality.  Let's suppose a car were coming tword you on the freeway at ninety miles an hour and was due to run you over - at night - a few seconds later.  Who would see the headlights more vividly - you or a car a quarter mile away piering through his rear view mirror?   This is a strange thing about how aether works in that Reality is truely in the Eye of the Beholder.  If something comes Tword- - you with hyper light speed - - you don't see it and in keeping with the "What you see is what you get" theory about gravity ether waves - - there is really no way even a physicist can quantify it with his measuring devices.  BUT if you are moving the Same Direction - - Away from that location and AS the speeding object at roughly the same speed - - the speeding object will be in That person's event horrizon but YOU as the so called "stationary" observer will not even be seen as a blur because YOU will be seen as the guy who is breaking light speed.  So it's a case of "Is this MY space or Yours?  It was some time about four or five years ago that I stated that "Black Holes mathematically cannot exist".  But now I've brought back the event horizon, if not Black Holes.  But we do believe in Neutron Stars.  Moe Kelly was talking about Geometry and I was going to do a major lecture on what people Don't know about Geometry.  I told you for instance that anything that can be broken down in ninety degree angles - - or a ninety degree trig type triangle - - CAN well and easily have its Volume computed.  I told you about that racecar (or speeding trains) BASIC program - - where the computer on its own extrapelated to negative space and negative time with absolutely no problem.  With drawn parabolas - - the TIME value could be stated as Zero at the crest of the parabola.  Move the TIME value and you move the crest. Many times in solid geometry it's useful to visually extrapelate - - objects or lines that Aren't there - or are in some different form - - - as though they Were there.  In the blackness of space it's easy for one to lose his bearings.  In flying aircraft it's important for you to look at your horizon indicator.   Stuff like the "Odd man out" theory - - that is an optical illusion.  We have spoken of the four random white dots in the blackness of space and one of them "looks' out of place, but the trouble is you can make JUST as convincing an argument that any of the other three stars are out of place.  This what I call the "odd Beatle out' theory- - which the Beatles themselves have discussed.  You know that no matter what angel a chord (line) enters a perfect Circle at- - that it will Exit that circle at precisely the Same angle - - never more and never less.  You know if you shave off a stick of butter at the corner- - what you will see is a triangle face.  You learn in Sketch of the "value of flat faces" and knowing When you can be assured of having a "flat face".  People say that the outer part of Black Holes spin a whole lot.  Water spins clockwise as it goes down the drain.  But if you look UP at a Low pressure system - - or "Down" into the upward vortex- - this too from your angle of perception would also be clockwise.  So it's silly to say that "orbits always go counter-clockwise" because it just depends on which SIDE of the thing you are looking at.  Most likely there would be no "spinning' at all.  In fact it could be argued that under General as opposed to Special relativity - - this whole "shrinking space interval" thing is Real, which is to say it is not Recriprical - - which is just a tea party code word anyhow.  (he said only slightly in jest) So why does space "shrink".  Be glad to tell you.  Because of the "accelerating elevator analogy" of - - - the Black Hole if it's there - - would accelerate ANYTHING near it to beyond light speed with reference to an onlooker.  We said this can't happen (at least with approaching light.  Receding light has its own backward illusion world we've covered before)  Or put another way the G force of the Black Hole would be so great as to necessitate an acceleration that would be hurrendus.  But you people already knew that.  Here's two thoughts I had that might be useful to you here.  As we said above the question is "Is it MY space or Your space - because we seem to share it.  Because in MY space - - since I'm not being yanked into an eternity (Lennon and Bowie might way "wanked into eternity") then as far as I'm concerned YOU aren't even in MY world.  (as we showed earlier)  The other thought I had was this.  If I draw a horizontal line on a black board and railroad tracks going out to Infinity - - if I'm an imaginary person on that train then I'm headed down the road forever and never reaching eternity.  But if I'm the school teacher- - that intersection point of the three lines - - is just a localized and foxed point - - and no more.  So it's strictly a case with Black Holes it seems to me is "You think there is an Eternity of space - - but it's all in the eye of the beholder- - thanks again to the NON recriprical nature of General Relativity.  However normally things aren't that extreme.  Things collapse into a neutron star.  You know them.  One of those "holes" or indentations in the green golf course gravity grid.  I've always wondered that is Hydrogen fusion is lime crushing nucleai - - for a major Nuclear Reaction - - why wouldn't such explosions occur under the enormous pressure of Neutron Stars?  I don't know.  I'm just asking questions here.

Reporting All the News Stories Fit to Print

If there is any big story of the day it’s the fact that the Republicans in congress have proposed what I consider a rather apt compromise bill as to the Sequester crisis.  They proposed that President Obama himself be put in charge of the funds in question to be distributed to government agencies as he sees fit.  Some claim the Republicans are doing this to make the President more culpable and “involved” in blame should the Sequester tank the economy.  But I say “bring it on!” because to me its well worth the risk to get off dead center.  Governor Rick Scott of Florida has also done the unexpected in that he now agrees to accept government medic aid funds he had previously “rejected in principle”.  He says “As long as the government is one hundred percent funding the thing it’s fine with me”.  This of course has always been the case.  Still it’s nice to see a reactionary Republican governor exhibit a moment of lucidity.  The other day Randy Rhodes was talking about this fraud and abuse with doctors prescribing these motorized “Hove Around’ chairs that are expensive, for patients who don’t need them.  This is kind of the thing that is invited by the way Medicare is structured.  But it would not happen under Obama-Care because you have a private insurer.  By the same token this talk of “Death Panels’ is silly because, besides a few general government guidelines about who must be covered, there are no specific regulations- - -  that would necessitate “Death Panels” because the Insurance companies themselves, as they always have, been the arbiters of what is covered and made these “Who lives and who dies’ or some might call “Death Panel” decisions.

The mayor of Bell - - is guilty of pilfering a lot of money from that city and jacking property taxes way up to finance the Mayor and his cronies.  I heard the figure of six million dollars.  Talk show hosts point out that the mayor is an elementary school drop out- - but supposedly “a nice guy”.  Of course as Moe Kelly says, ignorance of the law is no excuse, if he’s trying to claim that.   Certain talents and aptitudes are needed for certain jobs.  For instance for computer programming you need the ability of mental abstraction and organization.  But a Supreme Court justice like Clarence Thomas also needs a certain “mental capacity” which he seems to lack.  You need that thing called “seasoning’ and a “judicial temperament”.  You have to be able to organize your thoughts to ask the right, relevant questions.  It’s a legal reality that a juror who refuses to participate in the dialog interchange, as Clarence Thomas repeatedly fails to do- - can be dismissed from the jury for “failure to deliberate”.   Did you hear that, Thomas?

I had Dr. Oz on today in part because he had promised his big anti-oxidant exposee today.  I couldn’t wait for information and last evening went on line and basically got the same information that was presented on the Dr. Oz show today.  It seems that Vitamin E raises the risk of prostate cancer by seventeen percent.  Beta Carrotine is the worst because he raises cancer risks in general, particularly that of lung cancer in smokers, which I should bear in mind.  Dr. Oz said that you get all the Vitamin A you need in one third of a carrot.  It seems that anti oxidents actually remove too many of the self produced “free radicals” in the body.  Because it seems that free radicals are things the body itself uses to fight infection.  Vitamin C does absolutely no good at all in fighting cancer and Dr. Oz maintains you need only 60 mg per day and not five hundred or a thousand as Judy recommends.   250 mg should do it.  It always puzzled me that a natural biological metabolical process the body does should now be considered an “abnormality”.

That Oscar guy who was an amputee Olympic star of South Africa accused of murdering his wife - - got bail in a South African court today.  He only had to put up the equivelant of a hundred thousand dollars, which would be an unheard of small amount for anyone so accused in this country.  Medical considerations may have played into the decision since his prostheses need constant attention.  This is the guy who fired a gun through a bathroom door repeatedly because he thought an intruder was in there- but it was just his wife.  When I first heard this story I thought it referred to excessive force used by the police- - since they do this sort of thing all the time and can get away with “I was fearful and tense so I started firing”.  How many times have you heard that one.  To me the charge should be “excessive force” in other words manslaughter.

A gigantic car bomb explosion went off in the streets of Domascus Syria yesterday and it was just the latest stunt by “the rebels’ to show that Bashier Assad can’t rest easily, even in his own capital city.  Of course it’s not an action guaranteed to win friends and influence people.  And meanwhile in Iran today they held a wrestling match between the United States in Iran and Akmadenejab was in good spirits.  So is this the start of “wrestling diplomacy”?  And the U S Postal Service is suing Lance Armstrong for all the money they spent promoting him.  If I were Lance Armstrong I would do everything I could to keep my name out of the news.  Drew Peterson was officially sentensed 38 years for killing his third wife, Kathleen Silva.  He told his fourth wife Stacy Peterson about it, and then he "made her disappear" because he believed as a former cop that in court they didn't allow heresay testamony.  But now they have changed the law so that "witnesses who are no longer available" may bet their testomony related in heresay fashion.  Many of the women associated with Drew Peternon don't believe that 38 years in prison is a long enough sentense, ans I am inclined to agree.

The Political "Demolition Derby"

Randi Rhodes talked about the police-nanny state.  In the New York school system there are more Cops on the campuses than guidance counselors.  When a student pulls detention he doesn’t just spend an hour a day for a week sitting in the multi purpose room.  No.  Instead it is a police matter and the student is arrested.  (apparently she kids you not)  I had Chris Matthews on for a couple of segments of last night’s program because Randy and others found the show such a rich source of discussion material.  There is that grand canyon of separation between the republicans and democrats.  What the Republicans seem to be conducting is the political equivalent of a Demolition Derby, and it’s government that the republicans want to demolish.  In the morning Rush Limbaugh left no doubt at all his sentaments saying that he “hopes that we will enter into a major economic depression, because then the President will be so distracted dealing with the economic woes he won’t have time to deal with getting immigration reform passed or deal with the guns issue.   He prefaced his remark saying “I never thought I’d ever say what I’m about to say - - “ but in truth he pretty much said it already four years ago.  Chris Matthews states that the Republicans are using the same tacticts now to “bring down a government they don’t like, aka Obama, that they once used under other Republicans to bring down the governments of Iran, and Guatamala, and Chile, and they contemplated doing with Viet Nam.  An election was scheduled there in 1956 and the concencus was the vote would go to Ho Chi Min, but some of the military brass urged Eisenhaur to bomb North Viet Nam, but Eisenhower refused.   Herman Cain says that if 51% of the people voted to re elect this president then fifty one percent must be uninformed.  But the thing is they are saying now that the President has risen to sixty percent in the latest popularity polls.  I haven’t personally seen those number.  That means the President’s popularity has gone up, rather than down, nine points since election day.   It seems Rush was discouraged today about things and he told his audience that what the conservatives has undergone is “a failure in messaging”.  Others have been saying that both FOX news’s ratings are down and that Rush Limbaugh’s numbers are way down.  Personally I would like confirmation on this.  Someone else complained that the problem with bloggers like me is that we don’t properly “vet’ our information but pass it on as gospel.  Apparently there was a guy named Jack Swaggart at a stadium in Mississippi who was preaching to a crowd howling their approval about “All of these people who have come to this country- - I don’t know who they are but they aren’t Americans and I can’t even understand their speech the way they talk”.  But the guy himself has a southern accent so thick you could cut it with a knife.  I hope and pray he isn’t related to evangelist Jimmy Swaggart.  Apparently someone from the Republican National Committee has filed federal suit and the Supreme Court is going to hear this case- - where he claims that he as an individual has the right to give any amount of money to as many of his favorite personal candidates as he pleases.  As such he basically wants the High Court to declare all campaign spending laws unconstitutional.

There are all these other troubling racial issues in the news.  You heard the story about the middle aged white guy on a plane near a crying baby and he told the woman “Shut that N word baby up!” but then kind of fell like he was drunk, or something.  And then he slapped the baby.  Now the federal government is filing civil right violation charges.  There was a Nazi father who didn’t want his daughter in the labor room to be attended to by Black nurses, so they pulled the newborn baby out of that neo natal unit.  And at a Florida university there is a football stadium that’s going to be named the Geo Prisons Stadium, because this private Prison company owns the thing.  Of course we know the war on drugs is a war on Black people because whites very often can find a legal way of obtaining their drugs by “doctor shopping’ and the like.  Of course when Oliver North brought cocaine to south Los Angeles, they immediately passed a law increasing penalties for rock cocaine- - but not powder- - so it would affect Black people.  Randi is also worried about reality shows going too far because of some drug rehab program on a cable network- - where you are somehow secretly routing that the addicted celebrities won’t make it.

On C-Span they had an expert on the subject of “Politics and digital devices”.  It seems that liberals in general use these products to a greater degree such as Tweets and Facebook because they are urban, and educated, and probably more cerebral.  Of course these are the same demographic properties that liberals have.  Overall there may not be more Conservatives on these social networks than liberals, but a higher percent of those who ARE liberals make use of these media.  You can’t use the “drug” standard here.  Nobody is saying that Liberalism “causes” people to use social media or visa versa.  We are merely saying “Who they ARE”.  On another link there was valuable Wall Street background stuff it’s useful to review.  First of all even at this late date several years down the line, only one third of Dodd Frank has gone into effect.  Also there are still NO Wall Street prosecutions out of the Obama Administration.  In 2000 it seems that sixty percent of all banks dealt with traditional “serve the client’ and “play it safe with his money” philosophy took place.  But now they say that eighty percent of the capital going back and forth is Banker and Broker initiated “investment”.  And there seems to be a practice I’ve tagged “Information mining’ of Clients.  Rather than go to a Broker to glean information to help you invest wisely- - the Brokerage House gets information from YOU and uses THAT information to invest their vast millions in the venture themselves.  Some say it’s unfair to compare Wall Street today to a giant gambling casino.  Because there they have cameras everywhere looking for “funny stuff”.  And they have strict rules about the Casino gambling on itself.  That seems obvious.  Besides the change about allowing derivitives-  which didn’t used to be legal - betting on the success of other’s investments pro or con - - which weren’t gone into that much - - they also changed the “leverage requirements” banks had to follow.  They say it used to be six to one and now it’s thirty five to one.  The potential for major loss at that high a ratio is astronomical.  And of course - - the whole admixture of mixing the Casino atmosphere with traditional banking- - was legalized late in the Clinton Administration.

Consider these three “snap shots’ and tell me what you see.  Two teenage girls dressed fairly nicely are sitting at a park bench.  One is going on and on about a new lover of hers and everything he’s done and accomplished and how handsome he is.  And she opens up her shopping bag and pulls out expensive perfume and a fancy boxes of candy and flowers and whatever.  “Look what he gave me”.  And she opens up the candy box with a few chocolates eaten out of it.  The other girl says – “Oh, can I have one?”  NO!!! The first girl snaps.  They’re MINE!”  Here is scene two.  Two boys are in the back yard of one of them and one says to the other, “I’ve got a three headed lizard at my house.  Isn’t that something”.  The other boy says, “Well lets go over to your house and see it”.  But the other boy says “No I lent it to a friend and he lives way on the other side of town.  And the other boy says “We can ride out bikes”.  And the boy claiming to have the lizard says “Well I’d have to go with you and my bike has a flat tire’.  And the other boy says “I have an extra bike, you can ride mine”.  And the first boy says “Well my pastor told me not to use other’s things and I never disobey him.  You understand, don’t you” And the other boy says - - “Are you sure you have a three headed lizard?”  And the first boy blows up and says “You don’t believe me - - Nobody EVER Believes Me- !!!”    (I’m thinking “Gee, I wonder why that is - - - ?)  You have a good friend who died- - and when you were alive you told each other everything.  So you call up and tell Neil Savedra that you’re going to contact your dead friend via a medium.  Neil doesn’t respond “It’s physically impossible to reach the dead or for the dead to ever come back from the grave”.  He wouldn’t dare.  Instead he just says “Well - - when you’re dead you’re in such a state of drugged out euphoria you just can’t think of anybody but yourself and how bitchin your existence is now”.   There are two things wrong with “The Gospel” often tagged “good news”.  It isn’t Good - - and it isn’t News.  (Selah)

The Scarey Unknown World of Tomorrow

Man and Machine - keep yourself Clean
Or be a has been - like a Dinasaur
Man and Device - - For everything Nice
You Better think Twice- At least Once More
As you all may know by now, there has been another major gun shooting incident, and this one was in the heart of Orange County, safely behind "the Orange Curtain".  I won't go into the details of the thing right now.  You can follow it on the evening news complete with video.  His name is Ali Seid and he's just twenty-one years old.  He killed three people and then himself and wounded many others - and at other times went on random shooting sprees.  It's been my contention that the hottest places in Hell are reserved for those individuals who "see how many people they can take out" before then killing themselves.  This is particularly true in the case of a father killing his entirely family, and then himself, as if his own death could in any way atone for the other lives he's destroyed.  We also heard today that the Sandy Hook school shooter was hoping to mow down 77 people and set a new record for mass killing.  There is something downright demonic about these individuals.  It's symptomatic of a new, scarey age we live in now.  In the past seven or eight months we have been pummeled with gun shooting after gun shooting, and one wonders how long this can go on.  David Cruise' response to all this is "Well, I'm just not going to talk about these stories any more".  I can guarentee you that if David Cruise had discussed last night's Televised Mayoral Debate  on KABC - - I would not have tuned in for the entire hour.  That is when I wasn't down seeing Dr. Saran.  And by the way my blood pressure was actually down twenty points from last time.  And I managed to secure a cough medicine prescription from him, which I am grateful for.  The trouble with these mass shootings if that you can't really blame them on anything the Tea Party did.  The gun used in Sandy Hook was legal even under their newly tightened restrictions.  We learned from Sandy Hook that neither personal heroics nor stringent security measures and training were enough to stop the slaughter.  The best it could do was to minimize it.  Something is going on today - - I just haven't figured out exactly what it is.

The role of the White House First Ladies should not be minimized.  Lucy Hayse attended Sufferegette and Temperance meetings, encouraging like minded people throughout the country as if sending them some sign.  Of course Eleanor Roosevelt only invited women reporters to her personal Press Conferences, meaning that newspapers would be strongly encouraged to go out and hire women reporters themselves.  Mamie Eisenhaur was the first woman to be aware of the fact that more women Voted in elections than do men now.  And she is noted for "doing the first political add for her spouse".  Lady Bird was said to have encouraged the infant Ecology movement.  I didn't know that.  Martha Washington was a widdow at 25 and a rich Virginia matrin when George Washington met her.  Of course we know Bettie Ford championed both the causes of breast cancer and alcoholism.  Some author says "But other first ladies like Sarah Polk and Abigail Adams were influencial.  Abigail Adams used to write editorials in newspapers, defending her husband against various political charges.  There is a whole new TV series coming - on this whole subject.

There is a line in the BOC “Black Blade” that goes “It keeps telling me it’s my servant but I feel more like its slave”.  They have computerized heating systems now for energy efficiency.  I’m dreading the day when they come out with the “Official Jimmy Carter thermostat”, where the highest you can possibly set the thing is 68 degrees.  And they have these GPS cars now where if you let your teenager drive they you can program the car to notify you immediately when the car is driven into neighborhoods forbidden, or farther away from home than you allowed.  Of course since teenagers are tethered to their cell phones, often at the behest of parents – expect a call immediately.  Even Norman Bates would chafe at the short apron strings today’s teenagers are under.  Now mothers are able to access the school computer to check up on their sons to see whether or not they have completed last night’s homework assignment.  Of course soon they won’t even have text books in the classroom and everything will be done on line.  But I say there is something romantic about dusty old books in a library by the original authors hundreds of years ago.  But now someone’s two year old niece was complaining that one cell phone was “broken” because it didn’t have a touch screen.  Five year olds are more savy about how to use one of these Smart Phones than - - well, I would be.  I don’t know.  Nicole Sandler was saying that like a car, or even a dog that could bite someone, a gun ought to be registered, meaning – the physical possession - -  as well as being insured.  I already stated I thought that measure was a little draconian for right now.  But as times get more desperate – who knows?  After all if you’re a professional bar tender and knowingly serve a drunk that will get into his car and drive- - then you are seen as liable since the patron at that point is seen as too inebriated to exercise his own judgement so you have to exercise it for him.  Apparently there were fourteen and eighteen year old sisters listening to Obama’s speech in Chicago or someplace yesterday and hours later, the eighteen year old was shot down in a hail of gunfire walking quietly at 11:30 at night.  Nicole does not believe natural gas “fracking’ is safe yet.  I haven’t definitely decided on that.  Perhaps we could put T Boone Pickens plan into action of converting autos to natural gas - - since we seem to have an increasing supply of that.

It’s funny how we often “over think” things.  For instance people get hung up on terms like “The Meaning of Life”.  If they are talking about some “Ulltimate Reality” or a God’s eye view of the Cosmos - - it might be nice to have that.  I have stated that I am more a Realist than a pure Empericists – as a dedicated scientist would tag himself.  But there is one problem with virtually all of the people who talk about “Ultimate Reality” in that the “Reality” they would attempt to Convey - - isn’t Real.  You see it works like this.  “Ultimate Reality” is a subset of All Reality.  Not the other way around.  We spoke at length around September first, that a man’s eye view is that there eleven dimensions, but that God was “the twelfth man”.   Do you follow?  The other thing is - - my own hand crafted definition of Exestentialism is fundamentally different from the usual one.  I for instance talk about “existential Algebra” in a logical, functional sense.  But normally the Exestentialist is one who says “Life has no meaning”.  Having said that- - if one were being logical, there would be nothing else left to say.  It’s kind of a thing where you see there is nothing there - - and logically go elsewhere and look where there is Something.  But the Exestentialist makes the logical gaff of saying “We know there is nothing - - but we have to dedicate out whole lives to making sense of that very Nothing”.  You know that rich guy whom Jesus said to go sell all his possessions and give to the poor and come and follow him?  I got to thinking – “What would following Jesus” consisted of in those days.  Jesus was a one man band who thought everybody was an idiot but him and nobody held the Truth but him.  So what could I add to that?  Remember at this time the whole “Jesus Myth” had not bee created yet.  So it’s not like I’m going to spend all day long passing out Calvary Chapel Born Again Christian tracts.  At least in the Bible when someone said “The hand is writing on the wall” it was actually happening.  Today it’s just an idle expression.  And some people have more, shall we say “Basic” ideas of what is meaning and relevant.  If you’re in an area of vast famine of the sort we’ve never known- - having one ounce nuggets of gold in your pocket are worthless, if they won’t buy you a loaf of bread to keep from starving.  Many people’s lives – including Rush Limbaugh by the way- - their lives again become more meaningful and relevant once they have needed surgery such as cochlear implants.  And now they are working on a bionic eye.  They say you can see light and dark now.  I’ve got an idea - - just thrown a focusing lens in there and you’ll be all set.  There are people who run track races with artificial legs.  And they just did a double arm transplant on a quadruple amputee who suffered in Iraq.  I can assure that made his whole life a lot more relivent and “Meaningful”.  One Christian preacher put it aptly.  If two people look at a beautiful sunset – both may carry away slightly different impressions from viewing it – but at least both people can agree that they are in fact looking at a sunset.  But if you’re looking at existentialist abstract Art- - - Who the Hell knows what it’s supposed to Be?

The long awaited “Rest of the Cosmic News”.  Johnny Cash (the guy who’s dead now) said a week or two ago that Elvis Presley in his current walk in incarnation has “again taken up a fondness for guns”.  Since this was an individual was a former housemate of mine - - I can tell you that all the time I knew him there wasn’t a hint of wanting to own a gun, or having shot guns when he was younger.  I guess what disturbs me most about this news is that Jim may have “fallen into the tea party way of thinking” on issues when my last report from Bobby Hayden indicated he was becoming more progressive in his outlook, but that was years ago.  Two other things were the cosmic history of Tommy James and the Shandels.  I’m not sure how the subject came up with Mal Evans but the original 1963 lineup of the Shandels – doing ‘Hanky Panky” is that group I wasn’t sure of the name of the “Metzerschmetaen”.  No wonder I couldn’t remember it.  Other groups from this race or whatever are Bobby Lewis, the Marquettes “Last Night” and “Purple People Eater” and also “Joe Jones” – remember him?  This group is under strong control by the Federation, if you’re curious.  However most Tommy James songs are associated with a group tagged “The Aquarius Group”, which as you may guess covers the “Fifth Dimension” and ‘Alive and Kicking” and also the Cowsills.  There are four Aldeberan IX groups that were around prior to the planet being blown up around June first 1967.   These may or may not surprise you.  They are the Mermaids from late summer 1964 and “Bruce and Terry” and also the “Sun Rays”, which I suspect of being the game group, and also the “Cyrcle” and also the group that made “Sun Shine Girl” and you can look for the group name on Hit Parade charts.  The name escapes me.  And there is one interesting light bulb moment it took me 25 years, literally to figure out (OK, it’s actually been 26 years)  Groups with the letter “B” after them contain what is known as the Reigellian immunity factor.  People from Reigel races have even said that even THEY don’t have as prominent a “Reigelian immunity factor” as these “B”s.  They are immune to curses from Alcion.  One thing about “B” groups - - both Sirius B groups, and Bele Tagis B groups, is that these people “die a good death” almost regardless of the type of life they led here on earth.  In the case of Elvis he was a Sirius 0 when he was alive but reverted to his former Sirius B status once he died- - - was reincarnated.  Ronnie Van Zant was a Bela Tagis B and “died a good death”.  Richi Valenz - - cane under an Alcyonne spell - - because he was under Sirius 0 influence but when he died he reverted to his former Romulan status.  As for the Asberry Park group - - besides Messers Seeger and Springsteen - - Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels is another group you’d know.   As to the Detroit Romulans - - the four groups you may or may not be fermiliar with with them are Blue Cheer - - but also the Dave Clark V, the Champs, and also Bobby Day from the ‘fifties.   Oh yeah - - and also the Detroit Redwings, Pistons, and Lions.  Blue Cheer is the “Charriot” card, and Burt’s fondness for Blue Cheer occurred independent of my own fondness for them.   I’ve always regarded them as the first true “Heavy Metal” group.

World Court to Bring War Crimes Against Syria

The I Ching says "Today the household of the youngest daughter is thrown into mourning".  To which the client inquires, "What does that mean?

Some world court tomorrow is going to charge both sides in the Syrian conflict of war crimes.  We know of course that Assad wants to take over the world.  What could be worse than that?  Well many people were originally with the rebels till they found that they were just war lords under another name and terrorist thugs.  And they had a fondness of putting videos of beheadings they have done, up on You Tube.  There was a Christian guy who says that under Assad he was allowed to practice his religion and even put up a Christmas tree.  But now he is so scared that he emigrated to Lebanon, which isn’t exactly safe.  There are fears of “If Assad falls then Sheria law will be put into full force”.  You know what’s funny don’t you.  Whatever side this country eventually comes down on the Christian right will say that we should have gotten on the other.  That’s how they reason.  The more doom and gloom in the headlines the more offering goes to the kitty and into their increasingly vast cash reserves.  You know- - Mr Richi once quoted someone as saying “Religion is the study of Ultimate - - Things”.  I quickly agreed with this definition.  Then Mr Ricki said he hated it.  Everybody thinks they are the one to be uniquely given the secret of life- - and for a fee - - other exclusive groupies may partake, as long as you never trust another words your loved ones say ever again.  That’s kind of how it works.

Jerry Buss, owner of the Los Angeles Lakers from 1979 on – died yesterday and David Cruise is doing his biography now.  Officially he died of kidney failure, but he had been suffering from cancer for years.  He was owner of the LA Lakers for 34 years and was liked by everybody around him.  The team won ten NBA championships under his tenure.  Jerry Buss got his BS degree and then came to USC for post graduate in chemistry. He lived a very accomplished life.  Jerry paid $67  million for the LA Lakers from Jack Kent Cook.  I remember that name.  Today the Lakers are worth a billion.  Jerry Buss had a philosophy to leave the management and coaching of the team to more capable hands such as Pat Riley and Phil Jackson.   As a young child – Jerry’s parents divorced.  Jerry used to go out in the cold and scavage old phone books to take home and use for fire fuel to keep war.  They were that desperate.  His father would wake him up at four thirty in the morning in Wyoming when it’s fifteen degrees below zero to go out and dig trenches for plumber’s pipes.  Later on Buss studied and became a doctor, and then also the instituter of a lot of modernizations in sports we take for granted today, and among these are the Laker Girls.  Believe it or not he was initially discouraged in doing this..  David Cruise stresses that in all his poverty - - Jerry Buss always had a moral code he didn’t violate.   Needless to say, we need more success role models like him.

Country singer Mindy Mc Credy tradgicly committed suicide today at age 37.  She shot herself dead with the family shot gun on the same front porch the boyfriend and father of her infant child had just shot himself dead in the same manner just a month ago.  That’s enough material for a country ballad right there.  Mindy had a hard life and suffered abuse from husbands and fell into drugs.  She found stardom at a young age.  Her debut album sold well but she found it difficult to live up to raised expectations.  Possibly like so many aging starlets, she suffered from self image problems, and that’s tragic.  What else is tragic is this whole immigration bill the way it now appears in congress and will be rolled out for the Public tomorrow, and as David Cruise points out – no doubt will be widely talked about.  First of all it gives illegals who are here now no rights at all against exploitative employers – and about all that’s guaranteed is that they won’t be picked up off the street and shipped back over the border tomorrow.  Actually they ought to call it the “Alien self deportation bill” because that’s about the only viable option these would be immigrents will have.  There is an eight year waiting period where you are “elligable to become a legal resident”.  And then after eight years you get your green card to be a legal resident.  From there if everything goes shoothely (which it invariably doesn’t) in another five to seven years they too will be afforded the right to be US Citizens, assuming their knowledge of constitutional case law exceeds that of Clarence Thomas.  So basically a person is looking at fifteen years down the line for light at the end of the tunnel and from where I look - - most people would rather take a chance returning to their country of origen and see if the economy there is any better now.  Then we have this whole tax and tithing guy who was critiqued by one host this morning on KTLK.  The bottom line, of course, is that if you don’t enjoy gainful employment or profit or production of the land you own, you don’t owe God anything.  God doesn’t tax the widows and orphans.  Instead- God makes provisions for them.  And the recommended amount is not ten percent but more like 23% and both Gene Scott and Neil Savedra agree on this figure.  Of course what we on our side must beware of is to maintain our logical, moral, and ethical consistency.  We dare not fall into hypocracy - - for as such we would be no better than the Other Side.  Some may say “Join us- - everybody’s doing it.  Why be an odd ball?”  But if you can’t join an advocate group without sacrificing Principles – then don’t do it.  I’ve heard minority talk show hosts claim that “I could make a whole lot of money if only I came over to the other side – the political right – like Larry Elder.   Actually, I find that a scarey thought.  Danica Patrick earned the pole position of next Sunday’s Daytona 500.

This time I remembered to bring the catsup.  And I finished up the bottle.  I must have gotten that bottle from James Fisher four months ago - - and most times I know we’re having meat loaf I forget to take it.  But occasionally I remember.  The catsup never went bed- - and what I didn’t use I gave to Glen and the bottle was left at Glen’s table.  We also had scalloped potatoes, which I need to dump salt on, and green beans.  We had yogurt for dessert.  Laura started seconds on our side of the room for two consecutive days.  Do you know how unusual that is?  It’s about as unusual as a tea party gun regulation law – with teeth.  Laura had some of everything for us.  (except of course - - Her - - ha ha!)  I’ve had trouble keeping warm this afternoon obviously showing some kind of symptom or another from a lingering virus.  I have coffee all ready to roll right now to warm me up.
