More "Clues for you all" About Jesus' Ministry

.   Some of you are thinking it would be interesting to give “The Christian  church a report card on how well they’ve performed based on what they’ve accomplished over the past ten years or so.  Let’s do that.  Roe verses Wade still hasn’t been overturned as it hasn’t in 45 years.  That is still intact.  Gay marriage has been bad news for the fundamentalist right.  People only spoke of gay marriage in whispers ten years ago.  You would certainly never feature gay couples in soap operas or as contestents on game shows.  Now both are quite common.  Gay marriage has become leagel in all fifty states and there seems to be no turning back.   Utah has the worst pornography problem of any state in the union, so I’m told.  As to doctor assisted suicides- - these have become rapant.  Now you have these DNR notices in hospitals for do not recessitate.  This is like permission for the hospital to let you die when they could easily save you.  Christians have actually favored these, such as Judy.  These frivolous Hollywood marriages that last only a few months kind of mocking the institution of marriage are just as rapant as ever.  And then we have the matter of prescription opioid addiction.  These have become manifold worse over the past fifteen years or so.  You may look at this list and scratch your head and now wonder to yourself, “If there ANY area where the fundamentalist right has made any great accomplishments over the past ten years?  Well, there is one virtue, one accom-plishment that outshines them all.  And that is the election of Donald Trump as president, and  they are hanging on to that one as if their lives depended on it.  The president, despite a wholesale lack of any moral virtues besides no drinking alcohol, has become the embodiment of all virtue and stands for everything that’s right in America.  What does John Fugelsang think of that?  In this blog I plan to separate the things Jesus really said from the morass of theology that has surrounded him and “framed” the debate all these years.  Jesus is the one who’s been framed.   I would like to close this paragraph with one quotation in a New Testament book that I personally feel uncomfortable with, and my guess is that Martin Luther feels the same way.  It’s in the book of James.  It goes, “Count it all joy when you fall into all manner of diverse temptations”.   I have a major problem with that one.  Temptation as discussed in the Bible has to do with being baited or doing things on a dare or falling into a trap that others set for you.   I have found in my life that “doing things on a dare” seldom turns out well, and if you people reading this draw on your own experience I bet you will feel the same way.  It’s something to think about.  It’s more of a verse you’d find in the Satanic Bible or something, in my opinion.

There are more pieces of the puzzle filling in with my ‘Judas on the cross” theory.  There are a couple of hints that Jesus was “going away” on a literal trip and not dying.  He said to the pharicees in John “I am going away.  You will look for me but you will not find me”.  He also told his disciples in John “The night is coming when no man can work”.   If the Holy Spirit were indeed here this would not be the case.  “Night” to be literal is where the light no longer is.  But the light moves to a different part of the earth.  Judas led a Roman cohort to have Jesus arrested.  The thought hit this morning that “Maybe this was an illegal use of Roman troops and Judas got in trouble with the government or it.  Maybe people saw the troops “led” by Judas and thought that HE was leading a government insurrection.  Then there is the “lanterns and torches” remark and the mystery (vanishing) full moon.  Jesus told his disciples if I’m not mistaken on the Mount of Olives “watch and wait with me”.   I believe Jesus went there to pray but I don’t believe he was “readying himself for the ultimate sacrifice” as Neil Savedra says.  Also we have Jesus saying to Pilate “If my men were fighting for an earthly kingdom they would fight with swords” perhaps referring to Judas’s troops.  The reason why Jesus was so calm when they arrested him is because he knew that he would “escape in the final reel”.   Also Pilate asked Jesus “Where is your kingdom” and in the movie version of Jesus Christ Superstar he responds “There is a kingdom for me somewhere, if you only knew”.   But the biggest puzzle piece that Jesus did not intend to be a human sacrifice on the cross was his teaching on forgiveness.  He said “If you do not forgive the sins of others then your heavenly father will not forgive yours”.   This would not be true under the Jewish priestly system.  Also Jesus said to pray for your enemies.   My new take on this line is that you are to pray for your enemy’s success.  You aren’t praying that he’ll somehow be struck dead by lightning or suddenly turn around in his tracks and now do exactly so what you would like him to.  Jesus said to love your enemies.  Keep in mind this is the same Greek word that describes - -  a Hollywood starlet in the fifties love for fur coats.  It is a love where you truly VALUE your enemy.  Also in that one parable Jesus possibly speaks of buttering up Rome so that when he bombs out as Jewish Messiah he cam move to Rome and try his luck there.  And Tassitus can refer to Jesus as LIVING as late as fifty AD. (!)  Another clue is that while a lot of the “Passion” the Gospels show unanimity,  their accounts of the crucifixion vary to a great degree, and the resurrection stories vary even more than that.   And there is another “clue for you all”.  It centers on the word “riot”.    It was said that if Jesus were arrested in the city then “a riot might break out”.   So we may infer that the night before “the end” that the heart of the people was still with Jesus.   I also happened to think that it might take maybe a half hour to even hike to the Mount of Olives.  This would be beyond the venue of the Temple police.  At least I think so.   I believe the reason why they sent him to Pilate is NOT because “We have no law to put a man to death”.  This is a false rumor that got started.  The truth is that they simply had no jourisdiction in the matter and never should have been handed the case to begin with.  Even if they had no jurisdiction over him- - - if they had wanted to they could have made life pretty rough for him throwing him in some dark dungeon and throwing away the key.

Asking Questions is a Good Thing

Here are some questions you could ask yourself before deciding to become a Christian.  The first one is  - - What is the worst thing that could happen to me if I do not become a Christian?  The next is “Is this answer substantially different from what the worst thing that could happen if you DO become a Christian.   The next is from last night “Are you are at war with God or are you just at war with war with religion?  Maybe you’ve rejected religion but you haven’t rejected “God”.  Here is another question.  You know religion but if you don’t know God how can you either accept him or reject him?  The next one is key.  When does “Now” ever come for you as a Christian.  I didn’t say when it comes for  Evangelist- - when does “Now” come for YOU?   You see because if Christ purchased salvation from the cross for you to experience in the afterlife you might have to wonder “Will I even be even Around when “now” comes for me?”   Neil Savedra has taught that “Sure Jesus forgave your sins but you still have to pay for all of the consequences for said sin while in this life”.   Another question is “If salvation is only a matter of the will, as Neil Savedra says it is- - then maybe you should ask yourself whether you even HAVE the will to totally transform your life as Jesus promises (when HE makes a promise he expects YOU to keep it) so to speak.  If you Don’t have the will to do this and you know it- - then you know it’s something that’s not going to get done and you might as well find that out now.   Jesus liked to talk about people who “deny me before men”.    What about those who saw Jesus on Easter morning?  They didn’t “deny” Jesus but sure as hell were successful in keeping it secret because nobody who was unsaved ever got to see this  miracle and meet Jesus for themselves.   But to experience a risen Christ in the flesh would be to take power away from who?  From the Church.  And the Church has been on this power trip for two thousand years.  Think about it.

We hope you will have a merry Christmas.  For the first time perhaps ever, I’m not going to see my family for Christmas for reasons I don’t entirely understand myself.   My latest blogger numbers have shown a little sign of hope.  I hope to get back into things and write longer and more frequent postings.  I think right now I’ll include some stuff from yesterday.  Did you know that Grandpa and Grandma were both 75 when they died just like Penny Marshall?   Basically she was an old woman when she died.  “Laverne and Shirley” ran apparently from 1976 to 1983 or for seven years.  This means that Laverne was 33 when the show began and forty when this series ended.  She wasn’t exactly a spring chicken.  People have a tendency to forget this.   This morning I woke up just after four thirty.  I wanted to get more sleep but Cathy was talking so loud and wouldn’t be quiet that I got up at five to five and showered.  I noticed that my jeans, which I had just put on, didn’t smell entirely clean.  They don’t have scents in the detergents.  I was lying on the bed a while.  I turned on Joel Olsteen at ten to six and it was another case of hard luck stories that got turned around by God.  Then there was the seven year old kid who has 22 million from his You Tube videos that he’s been starring in since he was three, which was just four years ago.  His name is Ryan and he’s lived his whole life seemingly on a continuous state of euphoria with all of his new toys.  I have to ask God what lesson he is trying to impart by having me see all of these instant success stories often featuring young kids that strike it lucky and the money comes pouring in.   Patty remembered to bring the Egg Nog today and it was pumpkin.  We had Cheerios for breakfast and scrambled eggs with toast, butter and jelly.  I drank Patty’s coffee at the table.

No front cover photo was provided with the transmission.  We tried to keep the songs that are played all the time on the radio down to a tolerable minimum.    I hope you like it.  Here is another album “Lover’s Question” that was rel-released once again with revisions.

“Mystic Eyes” is dropped because that was a mis-transmission to begin with.  We now have three new tracks, “Drive My Car” by the Beatles, “Run for your Life” by Nancy Sinatra, With a Girl Like You” by the Troggs, and finally “Theme from El Casino Royal” by the Tijuana Brass, and this track is located right before “Is It Him or Me?"  (Chuck from around Chuck Berry's death March 2017) and this album officially came out on Tuesday December 18th of this year.
Just in case you were wondering the two Circ De Solee tracks were removed from this album because the Romulans decided to withdraw permission for their use.  Something that's considered in bad taste to do but they did it anyhow.  The Federation went for the Ravens so they are happy.  Stu Sutcliffe is a Raven's fan.  The Federation still plans to put out one more oldies album sometime.

The View from Here

This Sunday morning on Meet the Press they announced that if Trump didn't shut down the government he could kiss his chances of reelection good-bye.  They believe the president is still so indebted to his political base on the far right that he dares not cross them.  So if Rush Limbaugh gets on the radio on Thursday and says the president is selling out on the border wall issue then Trump has to reverse his position on whether to compromise.  Dick Derbin and other democrats want to use the funds for the border to interdict drug money and drugs flowing both ways accross the border, which makes sense to me.  But those on the right believe somehow in that steel spike wall.  Now here are a whole bunch of other news items from earlier in the week.  .  They interrupted that show for ABC coverage that James Mattis has resigned as secretary of defense.  He’s staying on till February.  He was the “last adult in the room” and now Trump has all psycho-phants in his administration.  The military is all shocked at the President’s actions of the past few days.  Then at three it was Eye Witness news.    Many have likened this Mattis thing to a key bolder in a rock formation and if you move that lode stone of support then the whole structure topples.

.  The government was shut down last night at nine our time.  I might as well go ahead and say that yesterday at the 3:30 ABC network news that the move to get a congressional deal on The Wall failed.  President Trump blamed the democrats after telling people, bragging almost, that if the government shut down, he would proudly take credit for it.  Of course they need sixty percent to vote out a bill in the senate and they don’t have it now, and they won’t have it even with the new senate.  Trump wanted Mc Connell to use the nuclear option involving a rule change but Mc Connell wouldn’t do it.  Patty still thinks there is hope that sometime today the house and senate can come to an agreement and reopen the government.  Of course the mail and all of our checks will still go through, along with Christmas packages.  The stock market went down four hundred points yesterday.  This is the worst week since 2008 and they claim it’s been the worst December since 1931 or before FBI was elected.  Usually you get a little Christmas cheer in the stock markets this time of year.  Now Trump not only wants all 2000 troops out of Syria within thirty days, but now the President wants the number of fourteen thousand troops in Afghanistan cut in half. People in the military are against that one, too.   I don’t know what President Trump’s poll numbers are now but the last report I had they were dropping sharply back down into the thirties.   Mattis  wrote Trump a long letter when he resigned the other day outlining his many objections to Trump’s policies.   Trump likes doing stuff just to generate distracting headlines.

The Dateline show on at two on KCOP was interesting in that it showed that a jury can convict a husband of murder seemingly on no direct evidence connecting him to the crime.  The wife who was middle-aged was discovered out in the tulies in the dead of night totally nude with some date rape drug in her system.  The cops interviewed the husband who reported that his wife was in the process of a mental break-down and would often wander out in the woods for hours or days (?) and not be in contact with anyone.  The husband also produced audio tapes of the wife flying into angry rages at the husband, and at one point stripped before her father in law and sexually propositioned him with her bare breasts showing and the father backed up the story.  Other evidence was produced that she and the husband otherwise had a good relationship and went on happy vacations together.   However there were four things in my mind that may have prompted the jury to render a guilty verdict on this case in just three hours and get the husband a life sentence for the crime.  Number one is that it was the husband’s DNA in the seaman of the dead body.  She wasn’t “date raped”.   The next thing were the 21 surveilance cameras all around the house that the police noticed as if the husband were a “controlling personality” and wouldn’t let the wife do anything but was very possessive.  Despite all of the computer records,  the portion from midnight to dawn has been professional erased by two “clean up” programs.  That is a professional “clean up” program was run twice, so the authorities could not retrieve the data.  Finally the reason for conviction is that there IS no other “reasonable alternative” to what happened that night.  With no other suspect, the husband obviously did it.

This is Saturday December 22, 2018 and I didn’t type yesterday.  I woke up at a quarter to five and was going to try and get more shut-eye but I had restless bowels which proved to be phantom.  I showered and went out to look at the full moon which was still up.  But the image was distorted and fuzzy and at first I thought it was my eyes but it was because it was in a hole in the leaves.  Actually I’ve had all of that doctor stuff lately but for 2019 I need to do two things.  I need to go to the DMV and get my ID updated because since December 31st 2007 I haven’tbeen me.  I haven’t had a valid ID since I was 57.  I need to finally switch my party affiliation to Democratic.  It’s about time.  Then I can get their litriture.  I also need to go to Paul’s eye doctor where I can get a good exam and they can at last confirm whether I have cateracts or not.  I was thinking about how “God is really the Pliades” in the heavens.  The seven sisters who are at enmity with Orion.  Interestingly the only two constellations I’m aware of mentioned in the Bible are the Pliades and Orion, referred to in the book of Job where God is lecturing Job on his great power just before he restores his Fortunes.  And as I’ve said in previous blogposts,  it pays to see which professions are disparaged in the Bible.  One of them is that of hunter, like Orion, the Hunter.  Nimrod and Esau were both “hunters before the LORD” and it is not a flattering term.  Of course then there is this bit with the Pliades and “strings” as in pulling strings and cutting strings.  Samson cut his hair and lost his power because he was a Nazarite.  The term “El” used as God in the OT elsewhere is referred to as the god of Storms.  The Pliades are associated with rain both because of the Elijah story and the fact (this is interesting) that nowhere in the Gospels does it ever refer to it being a rainy day.  There is talk of that Storm at sea, but it only refers to the wind and the waves but not rain.  Elsewhere it says “It thundered” in John where people were saying “God spoke to Jesus” his last week.  “Rain” is associated with receiving the Blessing of God.   Of course Jesus was a “pescatarian” meaning he ate fish but not other meat, just like the Nazarite vow people.  Nowhere in the gospels does it refer to either the preparation or the eating of the Passover lamb.  This might mean something.  At some point Millie came out and borrowed two cigarettes from me.  Now the fog was rolling in.  I’m not sure if I was out more than once.  I came in and it was before six and I happened to linger a moment on KFI when I turned on the radio.  They were talking about UFO sightings on that whacko program.  There was a triangular formation of three ships with shuttle craft traveling between the ships and witnesses say this went on for a half hour.  Then there was talk about the “red heffer” as a sign in Jerusalem that the Third Temple would soon be built.  They still close with that same Gaelic theme they’ve always used that sounds sort of like a post 1976 Ian Anderson composition.

President Trump Withdraws All Troops from Syria

This is after breakfast and here we are in flagstone.  Tomorrow is the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year.  Today is Thursday December 20, 2018 and we are approaching a full moon.  Things are more positive than they have been.  Let’s hope 2018 is a year that shuffles off quietly because it’s been a long year and not a good year.   Stephanie had on all of these government officials and military leaders saying what a major mistake it is for President Trump to be pulling those two thousand troops out of Syria.  They are like an insurance policy against ISIS returning.  Even though they own no square footage now, there is still the risk that some infra-structure of ISIS may still be in place.  We need to continue to gather intelligence to insure that ISIS, like a bad disease, doesn’t come back.  None of the nations around ISIS were friendly toward them.  These include Turkey, the Kurds, Syria, Iran, and Iraq.  Now President Trump is talking about a sixth branch of the military talking about a new Space Force that will patrol outer space and insure that those pesky space aliens don’t attack us.  Last night they delayed that rocket launch from Vandenburg AFB shortly after five thirty.  I looked to the northwest last night and didn’t see any lit vapor trails that I expected to see.  For the fourth time the launch was delayed and is scheduled to occur at 5:31 today.  They like doing these launches about an hour after sunset.   We need people like Stephanie Miller around to throw in a little vanishing humor and lightness into the grim national scene.  Of course the weather is bad.  Now there is some super storm merging together from Texas to the east coast where they will be getting buckets of rain for the peak Christmas traveling season.  People have been asking me if they have Newyears Eve parties around here and I said “No, they don’t”.  Of course you are free to walk outside and listen to all of the fireworks and gun shots going off at midnight.  I guess I told you that that solid black cat got shot a few days ago.   I told you that Tux (our mascot cat around here) made an appearance the other day so he wasn’t the shooting victim.  Now there are packs of dogs attacking kids and stuff and they have been slated for destruction.

Many people reading that blog post in “Wheels of Retrobution” may think that I have “sold out” religiously and am now claiming an “experience with God” or something.  This isn’t really the case the way people usual mean it.  Read the posting yourself.  Others of a more fundamentalist bent might say “your faith process was short-circuited, as you even admit on one place, and actually you have had an encounter with Satan and are under his control now”.  This isn’t exactly the case either.   I guess all I was saying is that people should be “at peace” or whatever with their own destinies, whatever that happens to be for you, because there is no point in fighting it anyhow.  As for my “Judas died on the cross” theory this is not a new one, and the rumor has been around Egypt for decades, but the teaching has stayed underground.

Last night was ordinary.  It was the ABC network news and then Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  I got my medication from Jan without a problem.  Last night it was “Dateline” and the eight o clock episode showed that a wife can do a mafia hit job on her estranged husband and only get eight years for it.  But then she’ll be back on the streets and out to make another hit. I was drowsy at the nine o clock episode and went to bed sometime during that hour.  With the increased Resperidol I’ve been sleeping better.  I did wake up after four and went back to sleep and woke at 5:22 by the digital clock and got up.  Bill was in the bathroom.  I just got dressed and went out to smoke and then came in and made myself instant coffee.  I didn’t turn on the computer till six and had Stephanie on.  I got my medication around six.

Paul says my mouse might not act up if I cleaned up.  It's the clicker that's the problem rather than the tracking.  I need to get another mouse in here so I can function.

.   I had on Rhapsody in Black.  Once again it was fund raising with “Maggie” on the phone.  Gardner said we were lucky because usually his show is preempted the second week in the month but we were so good last week with our pledges.   It was all Bill Gardner’s favorites just like the previous week.  There were some good songs such as “Have Mercy, Mercy Baby” by Clyde Mc Phatter again, and “Roll With Me, Henry” and “Little Bitty Pretty One” by Thurston Harris.  There was an earlier version of “I’m Leaving it all up to You”.   They played “Rip It Up” by Little Richard, and “Every Beat of my Heart” a 1961 song by Gladys Night.   Also during the day I called Judy and I was trying to get her to explain why I was excluded from this year’s Christmas gathering at their place.  I got no satisfactory answer at all.  All I know is that Wendy will be there.  I apologized for volunteering information that I shouldn’t have.  It turns out Paul was only "guessing" anyhow so it didn't matter what I did or didn't say.   Maybe it's my cough that scared off Judy.

.  I had Leo Le Port on and caught Chris Marquardt.  He was talking about three big software inovations in cameras they didn’t have ten years ago when I got my camera (9 years).  The first is automatic “fuzz focus” of narrow depth of field for people who want that.  Also today’s cameras take multiple exposures for capturing extreme brightness and extreme shadow in the same photograph and have it turn out good.  Also today’s cameras have good scenes taken with very poor lighting without jarring the camera.  They take shots before and after the actual “click” so that you aren’t jarring the camera.  I kept looking for the Rams and didn’t see them.  The Bears defeated Green Bay in a bonus game and so the Chicago Bears have officially won the NFC North division.  In the afternoon game on CBS it was the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the NE Patriots in Pittsburgh.

President Trump seems to be in a compromising mood for Christmas.  He has decided to sign that prisoner’s rights bill where many long term non violent offenders get a “get out of jail carrencd” early, because their punishments were so harsh under federal law.  President Trump has made the ultimate compromise by going against the bump stock gun lobby like the NRA.  Trump has decided to ban bump stocks as of the end of March and the people who own them have the option of either turning them in or destroying them.  These are the devices that turn semi-automatics into full automatic machine guns like the Las Vegas gun sniper used.  Then Trump wants to pull our two thousand troops out of Syria.  This is an area where he falls to the left of me because I think that’s a bad idea.  In small part it’s because we need to make sure ISIS is a thing of the past but more importantly,  I think it’s vital to keep troops in Syria because of the Russian menace and they’re likely to bomb more hospitals killing the most vulnerable of Syrian citizens.  I don’t see who can be against protecting these people.  But now Trump wants to compromise in the area of building the border wall.  Even Mitch Mc Connell, Mr. Political hard-ass himself, wants to compromise on a figure of 1.5 billion rather than the five billion President Trump is asking for.  FOX news and Rush Limbaugh have criticized this concession.

Five people know that Abigail is not really insane on Days of our Lives.  This "secret" of her secret Sanity will become a harder and harder secret to keep.  The next thing is whether my "Judas theory" is sane or insane.  The more people who hear about my "Judas on the cross" theory may conclude that mine is actually the Sane approach.

Impeach the Mother-Trucker Now

A Rude Pundit Repost.   (Without the Security detour)

In another one of his self-serving, self-justifying, self-indulgent public appearances, America's tallest dipshit, former FBI director James Comey, was at a New York City event where he was interviewed by MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace. Both Republicans (no, really, look it up), they discussed whether or not Democrats should pursue impeachment charges against President Donald Trump, also a Republican.

Comey said, "I hope that Donald Trump is not removed from office by impeachment because it would let the country off the hook. And it would drive into the fabric of our nation a third of the people believing there was a coup. And we need a moment of inflection, where we all get off the couch and say, 'That is not who we are,' and in a landslide rid ourselves of this attack on our values." Of course, Comey seems to have a faith in the American people that is more than a little misplaced at this point in our sordid history.

Like so many others, Comey seems to think that there would be some kind of uprising by the racists, the rubes, the elderly, the shut-ins, the fucking morons, and the syphilitic lepers who make up Trump's base should Democrats take down Trump. Trump himself asserted as much. "I think that the people would revolt if that happened," he told Reuters yesterday about impeachment.

This is part of a tactic that Republicans use on Democrats all the time. "If you do Thing X, then All These Dumbass Yahoos will be pissed" might as well be a motto for the GOP. Remember how Republicans swore that the Affordable Care Act was supposed to destroy the economy, steal your job, and shoot your dog? Yeah, no. Almost nobody's gonna fuckin' rise up to defend Donald cocksuckin' Trump, no matter how much Sean Hannity weeps and rends his garments. And the couple of people who do try something will crumble when faced with law enforcement. They'll be begging to give blow jobs to the cops arresting them to stay out of jail. It'll just be pathetic. And then hilarious. And then pathetic again. And then, finally, hilarious.

Democrats are also being told that voters will be upset if they just hold hearings and impeach and attack Trump and don't come up with an agenda of their own. Again, that is incredibly naive, like "anal sex means you're still a virgin" naive. First off, Democratic voters are jonesin' for a show of strength from Democrats, and part of that is punishing the bastards who have been shitting all over our nice country for the last two years. As I said before, the chance of 20 Republicans in the Senate joining all the Democrats to vote for Trump's removal from office after an impeachment in the House is about the same as the chance that Saturday Night Live ever really does political satire instead of putting celebrities in funny wigs. But you gotta give red meat to the beast of the base. Impeachment does that very thing.

Besides, Trump is gonna still take up all the media oxygen. It won't matter if Democrats attempt to pass, say, Medicare for All because all our 300 pound sack of spoiled orange marmalade president has to do is tweet out, "I'll wipe my ass with China!" while he's on the shitter, and no one's gonna talk about a bill that also ain't passing the Senate anyways. What Democrats need to do is control the Trump narrative. Hearings leading to an impeachment vote, with, say, Robert Mueller answering questions from Adam Schiff, will go a long way to puncturing Trump's increasingly ineffective ego-thrusts. It will steal attention from him (which will drive him fuckin' nuts).

Look, of course, we need to wait until the depth of Trump's criminality, venality, and immorality is revealed by the tide of investigations rushing in to drown him and his terrible family. Obviously, showing that Trump committed crimes that sold out the national interest for pure greed would strengthen any impeachment efforts. The Clinton impeachment shouldn't be a deterrent. In fact, it should be an encouragement, like "Wait, you mean they did this to Clinton for those bullshit reasons and now you don't want us to do anything for a goddamn mobster? Fuck you. Let's vote."

But, at the end of the day, Democrats should start the impeachment process as soon as practical because it's just the right goddamn thing to do. You can talk about what's "extraordinary" about it, you can say it's "overturning the will of the people," and you can complain that it's a distraction or whatever. Yet impeachment exists in the Constitution for a reason: it's precisely for situations like this where waiting for another election would damage the nation.

It is the responsibility of members of Congress to take down a dangerous president. That is part of your sacred goddamned duty. We shouldn't be questioning starting down the impeachment road. Especially as we learn more and more about how filthy Trump is, we should question why the Republicans refuse to remove him from office.

(Note: Of course, the more direct action is just to arrest the motherfuckers.)
