President Obama Produces Birth Certificate

President Obama released his "long form" birth certificate yesterday. This, of course, is what the "birthers" and the Republicans have been clamoring for him to do, led by probable Presidential candidate, Donald Trump. Yesterday Donald Trump was happy about his own actions. Unfortunately the pack of the other loonie Republican candidates may not be so happy. In fact I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they were all as mad as hell at him, for depriving them of their greatest issue to get out the votes in the Iowa Primary. So one can't help but go "Nya - nya -- nya- - nya!- - - nyah!" at the whole lot of them. Now they have all been shown for the asses they are. Of course I'm not sure in my own case whether the thing I dug up for the DMV in September of 2002 was my "long" or "short" form Birth Certificate. I only know it wasn't the hospital one my Mom had shown me all those years with the baby's foot prints and the mother's thumb print on it- and some kind of gold sticker. This long form one said my Dad worked for an "oil company". My Dad's actual job was more of an Insurance investigator- - checking out claims, kind of not that unlike what Edger G. Robinson did in "Double Indemnity". In my own case I'm not entirely sure I trust either document. But in the President's case it was always known that the President was born on August 4, 1961 in Hawaii and we know for certain the hospital he was born at. And there are all those birth announcements in the newspaper. The Republicans have NEVER been able to explain that one away. But still they say even today fifteen percent of the whack jobs out there don't believe this new document but still believe the President was born in Kenya, even though there is NO evidence of that. For some people their beliefs are their security blanket protecting them from the real world. Rational people like myself have never reasoned this way- - but I guess in today's election cycle, certain accomodations have to be made in Campaigns for the "whack job factor" out there.

President Obama decided to do some major rearranging of his cabinet yesterday, probably so that the people in each post more precisely reflect the president's positions on issues. For instance Def. Sec. Robert Gates was at odds with the President's current pro war position on Libya. We haven't heard that much about Libya lately, only that we are still thinking of sending ground troops if the situation calls for that. John Mc Cain is calling for any measures sort of that drastic move, saying NATO and company should continue with the bombing. Apparently we have wiped out forty percent of Kadafy's strike force already. At that rate we should have the job done in a few more weeks. But John Mc Cain is also calling for "advisors" like we had in Viet Nam for a while, and people to train the rebels fighting for their lives, before the Kadaffy government wiped them out. As I have stated we may want to re-think that strategy because in letting Kadaffy stay we are making a Faustian bargain with the Devil to get cheaper oil prices because speculators will no longer see it an easy to make a buck, once the Mideast "crisis" has settled back down to what passes for normal there Leon Peneta has moved from the CIA to the Defense department replacing Robert Gates, and General Petrayas will replace Peneta at the CIA. I would presume that Leon Peneta has a philosophy on this matter more to the President's liking. As far as Gen. Petrayas, or "betray us" is concerned- - I guess we're looking for a proven military winner at the CIA. OK the surge worked so I shouldn't call names. But you know the President was a lot more vocal than I was back in 2006 in saying that the surge would never work in Iraq. But the President is counting on all of us having short memories. As to high gasoline prices, there was a point in 2008 when I advised my readers that if they had real balls, they would short petroleum futures and make a killing on the way down. Of course you know what they used to say on KWHY don't you, "Bulls make money in the market; bears make money in the market, but hogs never do". I'm not saying we're there yet, but there may come a time when I give my readers the signal, they should all rush out and short oil futures and rake in the money. Of course you know the saying "Gasoline prices never go down as quickly as they go up".

Wikkileaks.com has done another information dump on the internet. This one pertains to the activities at Guantanamo Bay. I don't have a problem with releasing information that the American people need to know to help set military policy. After all it's out government and we ought to have a say as to what goes on. This is why the Constitution expressly limits war funding, which must only originate in the House- - the most immediate of the elected officials- - for a period of two years only, at which time all authorization must be renewed. But as I stated months ago, I do take exception to the release of Diplomatic communaques and suppositions and theories of our government officials. Because these indeed touch on national security, and must be held sacrosanct. Otherwise lives could be negatively impacted, and in a severe way, just like as in the Valerie and Joe Wilson affair of a few years ago. Certain things should truely and genuinely be "private", just as you and I should be accorded a certain measure of privacy in our own lives, free from the meddlesome interference of government. It's the Golden Rule and all that.

Right now I'd like to talk more about the reciprocity doctrine of Einstein. Get ready for some funny math coming your way on a TV station near you. We know in algebra they give new students some basic premises to go on. Such as "If A = B then B = A" and "If B = C and A = C than A = B" and the like. Others include "If A is greater than B; then B is less than A". But with the reciprocity doctrine you get funny math. You have "If A is greater than B then B is greater than A" Or try this one on for size. If A = C and C = A and both sides agree on this, and if A is greater than B then B is greater than C. Also if C is less than B then B is less than A. But A still equals C. With the reciprocity doctrine one guy might see his friend in the dining room for breakfast and say to his friend, "Gosh - you look really awful today" and the other fellow may respond "Well, you look like something the cat barfed up yourself". Of course we could be talking about two patients in a half way house or something where BOTH fellows have a COMMON misperception problem, because both are suffering from some sort of psychological depression. But nobody ever adds up the observable evidence and the math and deduces what is really going on. They are too in love with the illusion. Let's look at it another way. We are told nobody can travel faster than light. But we know the speed of light is not infinite but a definable limited quantity of 186,000 miles per second. Doesn't it follow that light would be a rather poor way to measure speeds faster than itself? It would be as if all the churches in the United States suddenly forsook their beliefs in their concept of God, and with one voice declared that President Obama was the quintessential example of perfection. Try as they might to emulate everything about President Obama, somehow they continually fall short of what everybody knows to be perfection. But I'll give you another example of the absurdity of taking Einsteins formula of volicities seriously. I told you that a year of acceleration at one G gets you to light speed. However suppose you've been accelerating for ten months. Can you not take pride that you are almost at the speed of light and have only a small remainder of acceleration to go? Not in the classic theory. Because after nearly a year of expending all that rocket fuel and despite the fact that under Newton you will have accumulated a tremendous ammount of Kenitic energy mass-force, you don't have squat. You are no closser to your goal than you were. This is why I wrote Dr. Levy that letter saying that an infinite ammount of the Possible will STILL get you NONE of what is impossible. Let that one sink in. You've heard that Time is an artifact of God. But both time and infinity are artifacts of God. God himself created the concept of Infinity to be incorporated within a finite creation. Chew on that one. I have spoken of things Infinity will not accomplish. If you are doing a decimal one third you can go .3333333--- and with each 3 you get ten times closser to your goal. I said that in art parrellel lines meet at Infinity. They meet no sooner and no later. With camera lens markings infinity is just a fixed line. There are settings both greater than and less than Infinity. But with our light acceleration example. After ten months of acceleration the guy hasn't got squat. Zip. Some may rightly ask "What about Newton's law of conservation of Energy? Well, Einstein just threw that one overboard. After all that expenditure of energy you haven't got zip under Einstein. This is because you are having a parlor trick on you of progressively smaller miles and longer seconds, which like marijuana to a guy making love, slows you way down to a frustrating degree. In fact you'll never get there. This is why I told Dr. Levy "There are some things where even Infinity won't help you because you will still be not be one bit closser like dividing zero into one. An infinite ammount of zeroes will still not get you one bit closser to One. Here again, even an Infinite amount of the "Possible" will not produce one bit of the "Impossible". Meditate now with me on this Truth.

I would like to talk just a bit about God. I had an epiphamy a few days ago about the Justice of God. It really exists you know. I said of all the potential Universes potentially created (and perhaps ACTUALLY created) at the time of the Big Bang, that ours was one only totally Forward Universe where EFFECT completely follows CAUSE. This means that in God's sight we all get just what we deserve, whether we like it or not. We may envision a parrellel Universe where our alter egos fare much better in life and how we might like to exchange places with them. But we can't. You may remember the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus in the Bible. In this story the two were actually talking to each other from their respective after-lives. Lazarus told the Rich Man that "- - there is a gulf fixed between us and I cannot come over to you and you cannot come over to me". Not only that but even were that possible to bridge this Gap between parrellel Universes- - you Still couldn't do it because according to Star Trek each molicule in this Universe has a comon "cosmic signiture" which tags it as belonging to this Universe, and that would even include human souls of this Universe. As such divine justice demands that we stay in our own realms. Now under this system one might say that the blood of Jesus "changes our cosmic signiture" to make us sinless and perfect. Allow me to play this out, will you. Everyone has their own destiny according to their own world of cause and effect. In other Universes that go "sideways" for example there is no relation between cause and effect. In 180 degree opposite Universes, cause FOLLOWS effect, don't even ask me how. But this is only in our own eyes. As each views his own Universe there is divine justice whether he likes it or not.

"Where I Go - - You Can Come With Me"

"- - - You can ride Next Time - - well, maybe this time"

Jesus in the Gospel of John said, "Where I am going, you cannot follow". I thought I'd turn that around into something positive. I hardly recommend the "Whitmark Tapes" by Bob Dylan which consists of 46 different songs. One of them called "Fare Thee Well" has the sentament in it that "I'll write you letters to tell what I've learned in my travels" and also says "and in them you can travel with me". I happened to wonder about why the singer just didn't take his true love along with him. It could be he was having an affair with some married woman of importance, like the wife of a government official, who could not be seen in public with him. The other is that the lady might have some physical impediment to the sort of traveling Dylan had in mind. Perhaps it was a heart condition. Perhaps she had some other serious medical problem like bad kidneys, and couldn't venture very far from a dialysis machine. Of course sometimes cause and effect gets switched around- - as engrams from the Future pervaid the past. Take for example another letter song of Dylan, "Boots of Spanish Leather". This song is an open refutation of a Dr. Phill program a few years ago. In that show Dr. Phil talks to a man who has a problem and Dr. Phil wants to assure the man he understands the nature of the problem. So after the man tells him, Dr. Phil says "Tell me again. I want you to know for a fact that I really understand". The man tells him again and they repeat this process again and again. And each time the man is puzzled why he's asked to state what he's only stated before. Well the punch line to this story is that it becomes plainly evident a few moments later that Dr. Phil doesn't "get it" still, and were he told a dozen more times he still wouldn't "get it". This is how it is with Boots of Spanish Leather. Another song from that same album is also on "The Whitmark Tapes". This song being "When my ship comes in". Of all the songs Dylan has done, this is the song of most unadulterated Joy. I was going to coment on this real meaning of Joy a few postings ago. Of course my all time favorite song by Dylan lyrically has gotta be "Positively Fourth Street". This song has the lyric I have quoted before of "Do you take me for such a fool to think that I'd make contact with someone who tries what he don't know to begin with". It also contains the closer of "I wish for just one time you could stand inside my shoes- - and just for that one moment I could be you. You'd know what a drag it is to see you". Christianity would be a lot more pallatable if more Christians took this song to heart. Listening to Dana and Craig converse Craig can be heard to say many times "You you're just trying to argue with me again", and I stepped in on Dana's behalf saying "Dana is being straight with you. You are the one who is guilty of what you accuse Dana of". In terms of that opening quotation that is from "Tightrope Ride" from "Other Voices' by the Doors. You know the very first CD I played on my CD player back in December of 1989 could be titled "Other Voices". I speak of Steely Dan's first album. The other album I bought that day I won't tell you the name of it, only that my version does not contain the five bonus tracks that were later added. Of those five the one track I have absolutely never heard before is "You'll be Gone", but yes- - there is a entry for that track in Wickipedia.

Sometimes cause and effect appear to be backwards. For instance as you know "In the Back Seat of My Car" is perhaps my favorite Mc Cartney song of all time. Probably because it reminds me of the first time I had sex. The only thing is, when I first heard this song, I had not had sex yet. So I now impute to the song emotions that were not there at the time. Another instance of "back-formation" is what linguists talk about with such words as "Burgled" evolving from "Burglar" or Burglarized. "Into the Void" is another song where my mental sense of sequence seems in question. I have a clear memory of having that song in mind when I wrote out my suicide note in early May of 1972 - - with the line about "I'll commit suicide as soon as I get enough "Rocket Fuel" (meaning a good pill supply) And yet later that summer I heard this song on the radio, which was "Into The Void, final track on 'Masters of Reality", and began rolling tape and my brother goes "Why do you want to record a Black Sabbath song?" It was new to me. By the way, you-know-who (OK, Leslie) was a Mormon, and that ended up being the thing that ended the relationship. So it gladdened my day today when someone I've been thinking of starting a relationship with basically renounced her beliefs in Mormonism. "But Marcus, weren't you attracted to her because she was a Mormon to begin with?" No. I was attracted to her because she was religious. If you want a name I'll give you a hint- - it's one of those famous women's names in Beatles songs.

I'm sure you are a fan of "Skeletons in the Closet" as you are of all my blogs. Well, as you know on a real early posting on that blog in May of 2006 I listed six Beatle songs that the "fake" John Lennon didn't perform (meaning the Real one did) from February 1965 to February of 1968. Those songs, then as now are as follows, "Help", "Nowhere Man", "In My Life", "You Know My Name" ect. "All You Need Is Love" and "Baby, You're A Rich Man". This is if you don't count the Christmas records. The fake John Lennon wasn't on any of these with the possible exception of the one done for 1965. This was probably the worst track of the seven years. In general the fake John Lennon didn't exhibit the usual Beatle humor. However there was some jocularity for instance in such songs as "Hey Bulldog" and the marijuana induced version of "And Your Bird Can Sing". I've always the psychic impression of certain things that may not be so. For instance the segway at the end of "Listen to what the Man said" I am sure led to a different song from the one they ended up using, which in my mind is a last minute substitution. Another "impression" I have retained that I Want You (She's So Heavy) was a resurrection of an older song, perhaps recorded in late June of 1965 and just missed being on the "Help" album. Now I learn it's almost the oldest song on Abbey Road. Recordings for the song began in February of 1969. As you know it's been my assertion that the lyrics of this song have absolutely nothing to do with Yoco Ono, but instead are about a totally imaginary girl. Then's my views.

And now for the reason I've gathered you all here today. As you know Albert Einstein came forth with the proposition that E = MC squared. (Shall I repeat it three times like Jim Morrison?) Well- - I'm here to tell you that it taint so and I can prove it. Einstein's special theory of relativity as I see it pertains to the propagation of light and gravity waves in ether. If you escape ether, you escape light and gravity. As you know one of the first calculations I did when I got my calculator in December of 1974 was to calculate how long you'd have to accelerate to reach the speed of light. ("I thought it was to calculate how you would break out of prison") Anyway I have re-done the calculations many times since, and each time I have come up with the same answer and that is that it would take a year of One G acceleration to achieve the speed of light, or something pretty darned close to that. Which means I can walk into Dr. Levy's class tomorrow and say "Dr. Levy- - you have achieved 54 times the speed of light. In fact everybody in this room right now has achieved many times the speed of light. And guess what? We're all still here. We haven't all vaporized and turned into energy". You know there is a sound barrier but many may fear something caticlysmic happening when you break the "light barrier". But if this were so, how could I receive messages from the Federation that tell me things like "The only version of Twist and Shout you're allowed to hear is the one by the Isley Brothers, because the Reigel Sixers got the Beatle version banned". Yeah, stuff like that. How can you do inter-planetary communacations with distances over hundreds of light years unless there is a medium that can travel that fast? But Albert Einstein admits it in how own words. You may remember his "elevator" analogy. This one says that Gravity is the SAME asacceleration. There IS no difference. I rest my case. We have spent decades under the influence of 1 G gravity and were we in outer space we would have to be accelerating all this time, and we aren't. It takes a hell of a lot more speed than that to transform our molicules into pure energy.

By the say I was asked by one of you, "Are you fermiliar with the Stones' song "You go- and I'll come with you little baby?" and yes I am. In fact I own the CD. The original of this song I knew in my brief Memphis incarnation from 1951 to 1954, as the "unknown local lad".

ESCAPING LIGHT VOLOCITY

In the news there are two major horrors the country has to face this spring. One of them is the worst tornado season since 2003 and indeed the second worst season ever – and if we have more tornadoes next week this April will be the worse tornado season ever. You know the vast extent of the damage you’ve seen on TV. The other horror of course is high gasoline prices now up to $4.20 and getting higher. One source said they would be headed up to six dollars soon. Of course this will impact the economy something fierce if allowed to continue much longer. One might almost hope the mideast situation falls apart and the status quo is returned so that things can get back to normal. Of course almost half the price of a barrel of oil is from speculation. I said six months ago it was a good time to buy energy stocks. I may well have done that if I had the money for that. In other news the Royal Wedding will be held on a Friday. My parents were married on a Friday and we know how that turned out. They say that Dianne’s relatives will be sitting on the bride’s side of the church, which seems really perverse in my opinion. Tomorrow is Armenian genocide day and the Turks still don’t want to admit that it happened. The Orion Federation is pro Turk. And the Federation seems inclined to believe anything the Turkish government says on this subject.

Pat Buchanon is still trying to whip up anti Latino hysteria in saying how awful it will be when the Hispanics comprise a majority of the American population some decades from now. The others on the show held out hope for Republicans to gain Latino votes, especially Cuba, but not Pat. But I do agree with Pat we need to be wary of these trade deals the President seems intent on making. They will and are leading us to ruin, and people have forgotten the concept of economic nationalism. Franklin Graham has virtually endoursed Donald Trump for President saying he looks like the best candidate in the field. No doubt this will give Donald Trump added status, more than he already has. And at least Trump is speaking out on this foreign trade issue. Of course every day you hear the name of a new potential Republican presidential candidate. This leads to the inescapable conclusion that it just too darn early to pick a front runner at this point.

Right now here are the moronic ramblings with a mere three digit IQ. You may find the following link useful for further background Hyperspace (science fiction), There are a lot of math formulas in those Wikipedia articles. But scientists are having more and more doubts about light being an ultimate absolute speed limit all the time.

As you may not know there was an eleven year old boy in the news who was an autistic savant (like the Rain Man) who has an astronomical IQ and has been working on all these mathematical formulas and making “challenging statements” about many of Albert Einstein’s assumptions. Among the things he has said was that light wasn’t the absolute speed limit of the Universe but rather that 1.9 times the speed of light was. I got to thinking about this postulation today. You know in that letter to Dr. Levy I talked about a substance familiar to you people and that is Hyperspace. There are two schools of thought on this subject. Some would say because of the E = MC2 formula that everything converts to energy at the speed of light. As such if we traveled at such a speed ourselves our molecules would be transformed into pure Energy. I find that term in the abstract “Energy” a little difficult. Mainly we think of matter that contains energy but is not itself energy, such as petroleum or uranium. But someone would argue to me “If you wish to contemplate a world where words are Things- - well you will have achieved your goal. Because you would be equal to “thoughts” or mental energy or whatever it is the psychics talk about. However if you read my writings you know that I don’t believe that the Ether Waves or Ether pertains to anything psychic. Were it so the scientists would have discovered it long ago. This is why I always say that the paranormal or psychic realm is a whole other dimension we are now ignorant of, but which the Greeks “imagined” (good word) long ago. But some would argue “Yes, Marcus you are right about space; it isn’t empty but is filled with Ether”. In fact you could go on to argue that it is this very Ether that is the “substance” of space, and without it, space as we know it in the three dimensions could not exist. But once having escaped from this green gravity golf course grid of Ether, we can move on to bigger and better things- - in this case much higher velocities. However I would like to propose one alternative to that autistic sevant’s theory now, and another in the next paragraph. Let’s look at E = MC squared. What did Einstein mean by that? To him light was the fast speed possible and as such one could substitute “infinite speed” for the “C” figure. Because I said a year and a half ago that the special theory of relativity might well be an “optical illusion” due to the “reciprocity factor”. Hence- - achieving light speed is not achieving infinite speed. Not by a long shot. I and the Federation believe that communication between planets and stars can occur over hundreds of light years or even tens of light years- - with no delay in communication whatsoever. Hence I believe that normal speed in the sixth dimension would be virtually infinite such that it would no longer be any a factor no matter the distances communicated. Hence one could retain his molecular identity in some form at greater than light speeds. But as Einstein postulated in his E = MC 2 theory you would indeed transmute into some form of “mental energy” or idea or something. In the world of hyper space just to review- - there is no Ether but you are still in this Universe. You just don’t occupy space as we know it. To put a finer point you would occupy dimensions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, but not the Fifth Dimension. (Nobody is proposing the group be banned) In other words just as an electron is part of an atom, you would still be associated with this Universe that God (or a “force”) created. But like the electron your specific space could not be localized in keeping with the Heisenberg uncertainty factor. This theory says you can isolate either Time or Space, but not both together.

Let us move on. I said I had another number I wanted you to consider other than 1.9 that kid mentioned. I can’t help but think the kid left out an important factor. Kids make mistakes after all. Don’t fault them. They’ll grow out of it. My “number” is if two objects approach each other at the speed of light – that is the number for them. But for two objects going away from each other the number is 2.999999 - - and so on, or virtually “three”. That is, 3 times the speed of light. The reason for the difference is that in the case of receding objects Time “appears” to run backwards. It’s an illusion of course, but there would come a time even running light backwards you would encounter the same problem as running it forward. It would just take longer. You all may remember when I talked about the “hyperbolic shield” by which the front part of your horizon was in a whole different realm (visual and otherwise) from your rear. The simple analogy of a motor boat going through water will illustrate it well, with the water being the Ether in this analogy. Of course many are spooked by the word hyperbola, thinking it’s some higher math or something. To un-spook you, hyperbolas appear to be “V” s when viewed from a substantial distance. If you “play out” the whole visual contact thing – “distances are closer than they seem” as the warnings about side view mirrors goes. In this scenario as in that one the approaching car may be "upon you" much more quickly than you imagined. There comes a point where your Ether boundary (the waves) ends. As you know gravity and light work on the “What you see is what you get” principle, talked about a year and a half ago. This makes planetary calculations a whole lot easier for scientists. It also precludes the existence of Black Holes. (Perhaps Thee biggest reason, anyhow) Another way of putting it is “gravity can’t go where light can’t go”. What if your friend in the approaching space ship “appears” so distant that he vanishes into invisibility, as you would with him? The “hyperbolic shield” or “end of the material Universe as you know it” (alias the Ether and its waves) means as I see if, that were you to crash head on right into the oncoming ship that both ships would emerge intact, with the molecular integrity intact. One could liken it to the whole yank the table cloth example, where you yank the table cloth with all the glasses and plates on it, and nothing barely moves. This is because, if you think about it- -the molecules of both ships would have an unimaginable amount of forward mass or pounds of thrust potential. I submit this mass would outweigh any other “disburbance” to the molecules caused by the other ship. But also "working for you" or "tilting the odds in your favor" would be two other facts. Time would be greatly speeded up (were you in radio contact with the oncoming ship) and also the "space" gravatationally speaking, between the molicules, would be greater creating more "space" to get between then. Well there, I’ve said it. I hope I clarified the situation. I added a few more clarifying sentenses on Monday morning April 25th to help ease doubts as to whether I know what I'm talking about.

Enough With One-Dimensional Novel Characters

Sometimes even liberals can overstep their bounds. Thom Hartman did this today when he talked about Ayan Rand having as her hero “protagonist” in the novel, “The Fountain Head” made into a movie by Warner Brothers in 1943, where the hero was an aspiring architect patterned after Frank Lloyd Right. But Hartman chose to rather fix on one statement made by Rand in the late 1920’s where she opted for this psychopathic murderer who killed a twelve year old girl viciously, and also committed another murder. This may be the first time in a California court where the insanity defense was tried. It didn’t work and the jury sentenced the man to death. The man was hanged on October 19th or something 1928. Rand said she wanted an “ethical” version of this psychopath without the depraved tendencies. It would seem that Hartman regards Ayan Rand as a sociopathic personality herself because of her philosophy of Objectivism. I, too, profess to be an “objectivist” and I see nothing wrong with that. I, too, do not believe we should base our ethical values on religious dogma. Apparently in the novel "The Fountain Head" there is a prominent rape scene involving the male hero of the story. It would seems Ran's novels are not entirely one-dimensional. As to her anti-communism, I can’t fault her for that. In 1947 she testified before the Un-American Activities Committee as a “friendly witness”. Communism was indeed creeping around our door back then and our society was under threat. There were indeed a lot of far leftists in high places. Henry Wallace was a Communist and he was Vice President for four years. All Rand’s life shows is that there were indeed atheists whom I wouldn’t want to emulate morally. She was criticized for having a lot of sexual affairs. So she was a liberated woman.

But I would like to comment on this notion of the one dimensional novel. I have a friend I’ve known for over thirty years, who writes science fiction novels. None of them has succeeded, but they are well written, grammatically, and they are filled with detail. But like so many “Christians” if you will, they are one dimensional and didactic. This is why I don’t like C S Lewis novels. This on dimensionalism is carried out to outrageous extremes in so many movies by Walt Disney because he hits you over the head with one dimensional stereotypes, which leave the nothing to the imagination as far as figuring out the plot is concerned. But of course if Hartman hates one dimensional stories then he must hate the Bible, particularly the Gospels. Here you find all these one dimensional anti-semetic parables and true life stories which invariably extol the Romans and slam the Jews. If Bill Clinton was “our first Black president” then Jesus was our first Roman prophet. Of course some may point my way in saying that I have “stepped over the line” in critique of “characters” in the New Testament. Some people like Dennis Prager and Dr. Levy seem bent on “cleaning up Christianity” by doing a re-write or something. Let me ask you, if “choice” was such a paramount thing as Neil Savedra and Dr. Levy says it is, how come Jesus never told the people with regard to Roman oppression “You people in Israel have the choice to mold your future however you want”. Don’t get eye strain searching for that passage in the Bible. It isn’t there. Do you remember the NBC movie “Jesus of Nazareth”? Do you remember what was just about the first words out of Jesus’ mouth when he saw Judas? He looked at him and said rather sternly, “You shall know a tree by its fruit”. Jesus saw a world of “good people” and “bad people”. Even Neil Savedra of KFI has made the statement “People don’t change”.

Hartman made the statement today that “I don’t think John Boehner is a sociopath, but I can’t say the same thing of Paul Ryan. He’s one of those “True Believers”. He thinks the rich pay too many taxes and wants to cut them - - further than they are already. Hartman said that democracy has its roots in evolutionary biology itself. He talks about flocks of geese signaling to each other by photo analysis of wing positions- - which way they intend to go, literally “voting” every millisecond. Hartman says that in most primitive tribes, Cooperation is a trait valued far more than competition is. And we know cultures and peoples evolve traits that maximize their continued survival. My Christian friends say they are all for open competition? Then engage with me in a debate of the merits of Christianity in the world. They’d never do that. Many of the things Glen Beck says about President Obama wanting to “crash the economy” may well be things he and his followers are guilty of desiring for America. Because people like Mark Bove and Chuck Smith believe that if things in America get bad enough then God will come back to save the day and let the others rot. Just as they send their children to private schools to get a decent education, and let the Public Schools go to hell. In one of my earliest blogs I spoke of Christianity is being rather reptilian. In fact I was going to call this blog “Leviathan – A Look at the Philosophy of Ayan Rand”. A leviathan of course is a crocodile, who hides out in the muddy water and then pounces and viciously attacks his victims. I said then how a reptile was not dependant on its mother but rather the mothers abandon their eggs, hopefully burrowing it in a safe place. When the lizard hatchling is born it’s a matter of a foot race to the water where he will be safe from preditors. I can’t help but think that a whole leviathan race is being spawned by Christians, who reproduce at rates way faster than the rest of us, and a lot of the spawn are now old enough to hold the rains of political power. These are people with no real education in the human sciences or of history other than a few highly select events. I don’t want to sound like some advocate of eugenics or anything. This is a free country and you can believe what you want to believe. I just don’t like the idea of bigoted adults passing their values on to their children. Had they not done so, by this time our history, bigotry would have been extinct by now. I do not know to what extent the world view of the Koch Brothers has seeped into Christian theology. I know that generally we here in California are not as backward as the rest of the country and that kind of “right wing shit” doesn’t sell well here. I’ll tell you this. Me at my most conservative perhaps fifteen years ago- - never would have gone along with the crap being repeatedly showed down our throats today by Ryan and the tea party crowd.

I’ve been thinking that perhaps I didn’t go far enough in my “critique” of Bill Gates in my letter to you-know-who. Thom Hartman was saying that every inventor stands on the shoulders of Giants, as Isaac Newton freely admitted. There were multiple who invented radio ad just about the same time. Ditto for harnessing electricity. There is such a thing as Zeitguist, which I first heard from a movie dramatization of Martin Luther King Jr. It’s German for “spirit of the times”. If you believe there is some kind of cosmic “collective unconscious” out there, you may like me come to believe that certain inventions were “destined” to come about. It was merely a matter of the “instrument” by which the Inventions would come. And so you had Xerox doing the first demonstration of G U I or graphic user interface, and Steve Wasmiac took the ball and ran with it. But Bill Gates can’t even claim that. All he can lay claim to inventing is the DOS command line for the original IBM P C’s. How many people use DOS now? And CP/M is similar to DOS. I’ve looked at the code. It isn’t all that different. The idea that one man was “indespensible” to forward progress is a little specious. Let me ask you one thing, you Christians. Just how “forward looking” and “encouraging of new job ventures” and “capital growth” and all those other marvelous things we associate with American ingenuity- - - were around during the Dark Ages when Christians ruled the roost, and could have fashioned a world in any manner they chose with no opposition. We had to rely on people like the Moslems of Babylon and the Chinese to help civilize us. From the point of the view of the Moslems, the Crusades might be called a cultural enrichment program. In my latest letter to Dr. Levy I left off reference to three things in my Magical Metaphysical Tour. One was the concept of Hyper-Space, where space as we know it can’t be “localized”. Another is that I am still a believer of the Ether theory – and Astronomy Café talks endlessly on how “space isn’t really empty”. But you know, Ayan Ryan can talk about adopting an old notion of the Supermen, but I have my own belief in the Super Self. As I have said in previous postings it derives from the fact that the soul as we know it may be hyper light speed and incorporating Einsteins special theory of Relativity- - the calculations double back on themselves. Therefore each and every one of us has the internal capacity to tape into knowledge of our own Future. Knowing this of course will offer little comfort because we will STILL be unable to change it. But perhaps we can gain some useful pointers from ourselves. Perhaps Exestentialists are afraid of the future. But I’m not worried about the long term future. It’s only getting through the next twenty or thirty years that is the problem. If I live long enough perhaps all these memories of the Tea Party will fade into irrelevance. Lets hope so. And let us hope for the country’s sake- - that this comes sooner rather than later.

The Clarion Call

You know that quotations at times can be "prophetic", but it may be a different quote for different people. People are not all in the same "place" of philosophical or perceptual development in life. Naturally people are going to identify with the particular quotes that match their own vantage point in life, made by people who have discovered the same Truths that they have. As such it will be interesting in class to see who comes up with what quotes. I used the word "prophetic". Dylan once said in a song "I ain't no prophet and I ain't no prophet's son". I don't subscribe to many of Dylan's beliefs. But I think his songs are prophetic in that they "speak the truths that society needs to hear". Personally in your reading of all that epositiory stuff today I was thinking, "that's a truth - - that's a lie- - that's a truth - - that's false". Some people look at a maze of cords and wires to a lot of electronic gadgets in the back of a bookcase and that's all they see. Others will want to unwind the strands and determine which one is headed from and which destination each wire is going to. So it is in a stream of philosophical thought you have a stream of platitutes that may not necessarily all be logically connected. One need not necessarily follow the other. But lazy people are bound to either accept the paragraph in total or reject it in total and that is that. I don't want to make this too long..

Kirkigard (sp?) Presents a very appealing view of Christianity. But as I said in class, what the head hauncho theologians believe about God and man and their relation may be alltogether different from what the man on the street believes. Some have said "We know that God is good because he makes Mankind and Mankind has done some amazingly good and heroic acts, therefore God must be good. Unfortunately this flies in the face of - - basically the Gnostic roots of Christianity, which kind of holds to the "devolution of God" principle. This theology holds that God or "The One" is so utterly unique that the very act of Creation itself is tantamount to sin, and that anything created will be morally inferior to the original First Cause. Each god created another god, which in turn created the angels, and at the bottom of the totem pole is man. Man and nature are seen as Evil under Gnosticism, and Christian just adopted the principle whole and changed the doctrine to "original sin" or the rebellion of Lucifer, or whatever. As such you can understand why I refer to perfect morality as "the highest nature of man" and not something from God because Christianity sees God and Man as utterly irreconsilable.

We'll move on. You know, one of the wises remarks President Clinton ever made was one about "If you see a turtle sitting on the top of a fence post, you know it didn't get there by itself". Bill Gates didn't get there by himself- - divorced from his environment or even government. He took atvantage of the patent laws. Without these he wouldn't have squat now; it would all have been ripped off. Gates relies on banking regulations to insure that his money is safe. He relies on the Police to insures that his house isn't broken into and his posessions stolen. He relies on the FAA every time he gets aboard a Jet to fly somewhere to insure that regulations are being followed and the plane doesn't crash. For someone to say to me "You are in life because of the choices you have made" I have to respond, "You mean that instead of being married for 35 years with children and grandchildren with lots of money in the bank - - I'm here at this facility - your basic "half way house" - virtually penniless - - because of choices I've made? - - I didn't get here by myself - - any more than that turtle on the fence post did. I had "help". It's too bad that "help" (be it from God or man) couldn't have been put to better use propeling my life to a more constructive end.

You know - - we could invent some new religion if you want to - - a new rule that says you get judged solely on the Choices you freely make. In the Bible "free choice" isn't the prominent doctrine in it - - not by a long shot. The theme of the Bible is "man has his plans and schemes, but God holds his destiny". But I maintain God is A moral because even given the rare gift of 20 -20 hindsight (which you don't have at the time) I take issue with certain "Judgement Calls" of God. First lets look at some of the choices the "Good people" of the Bible have made. God said it was his "choice" to keep mankind ignorant of moral principles such as good and evil. Abraham made the choice to marry his half sister. Abraham was willing to slay his son Isac is God wanted him to. Lot told those homosexuals outside they would have his daughters to do whatever they wanted with them. Lot had incest with both of his daughters. Samson made the "choice" to grab the pillars of the Philistine arena and bring the whole house down. King David did not punish one of his sons for raping one of his daughters. It was seemingly OK to have the next King of Israel to be spawned from an adulterous relationship. It was also OK if the son who wasn't born of adultery to be killed if he got in the way. Jesus Christ told the Gadderine recently freed from demons - -not to follow him but to go back to the town's people, who probably hated his guts- -we know they were a little paranoid - and for the man to try and convert them. (where is the Golden Rule here?) And I'm wondering if someone gave me three hundred dollars and I went out and got an expensive massage from a prostitute blowing all my money in one evening, whether that would be a wise "choice". And it wasn't Donald Trump or one of the Koch brothers who uttered the words "The poor you will always have with you" That was Jesus Christ, in one breath denying there was any hope for the poor, and also seemingly denying his own resurrection! If I were the Dali Lama at this point I would ask you readers the question "Now which of these people listed above did the most heroic, virtuous act of faith? We'll give you the answer in a moment. OK now lets review Choices of the "bad people" Of the Bible. Adam and Eve wanted spiritual and moral enlightenment. BAD King Saul went ahead with an animal sacrifice to insure victory in a battle he was facing "because the people were scattering". Had he NOT done so and LOST the battle, people would have been on his case for that. General Joab was bad because he killed the ring leader of a massive rebellion in Israel. It was General Joab who said "I get the feeling you rather would have had the whole Israeli army wiped out- - if your son could be brought back safely". And then we have Zachariah the future father of John the Baptist who told a prophet "Give me a sign from God whereby I might know this." BAD The sin of doubt knows no bounds for a pastoral commentary. And also it was Thomas the desciple who said "Let us all go with Jesus to Jerusalem, that we may die with him" (presumably in a battle of liberation against the Romans) As to pulpit comentary on this one - - this is the place were on radio where they would play the soundtrack of chirping crickets. Their silence on this issue is impressive. And then we have in Acts the sin of Simon the sorceror who repented of his sins and said to his accusers "Pray for me that the things you say won't come upon me", to which good churchmen respond "He should have prayed for himself". Oh how they love to talk about the sin of "false humility". That really irks me because these people wouldn't know True humility if it came up and bit them on the ass. You have heard the saying the Old Umpire in baseball who doesn't say "I call them as I see them" but rather, "They ARE what I CALL them". I think there comes a time when man has to fight for his OWN morality and let God's go by the way side. What would Soren Kirkigard say if he were alive today?

In that long list of people whom the Bible does not condemn their sin (it isn't a question of forgiveness, the sin was never called out in the first place) one individual included on the list was SAMSON. Believe it or not Samson is the more morally virtuous person on that list. He went down as doing a patriotic act for his country slaying all those Philistines who were only there to mock and make sport of him. You know people talk about choice and even broach an exestential idea or two when they are trying to appeal to the unconverted, but once you sign your soul away, all such talk goes out the window. Some of the "Choices" wern't all that hard to begin with. Paul was knocked off his horse and blinded. He had a choice. Either stay out there and die or be helped by some Christians with the promise of restoring his eye sight. My brother [Pete Richards] had a real choice, too. He could stay in the rock band he was in with a bunch of loadies who insisted on coming to band practice stoned out of their gords, going nowhere fast, or play in a much higher class band with some Christians who actually had a future. When push comes to shove, Chuck Smith himself has admitted "I made my Choice for Christ because it had always suited me and served my life well". "Some people are born on third base and think they hit a triple". Anne Richards said that at the 1988 Democratic Convention.

In terms of my favorite quotes on that list I like the one about how mankind would be better off without religion that Freud spoke of. Religion is as alluring as drugs and the analogy is too good to pass up. It's like that Cocaine add on TV where a woman's voice says "Will you die for me - - I knew you would". But I also agree with Fredrick the Great saying we should have freedom of religion. I do not believe the Government should be in the business of religion. I like that Adler one that I guess you like to about "Life is all about the process of action. Trust action - -not words or promises". I like the Emerson one about "A hero is no braver than an ordenary man. He's just brave five minutes longer". A lot of people may fantacise they are brave- - untill the test actually comes. Once the crisis has passed a coward says something like "I would have done something but I wasn't around or in the right place or otherwise occupied" or whatever. I guess the Burtrin Russel one is about how Life is too often about settling for the Possible above the Ideal. "People head for the Ideal but settle for the Possible". My only beef with this one is not its truthfulness- - but many cowards use it as a rationalle for their own apathy and sloth. This is just one reporter's opinion.

Obama Delivers Key Speech on the Deficet

Yesterday the President addressed a friendly crowd for 45 minutes talking at length on his plans to deal with the national deficet, to counteract Paul Ryan's plan. According to Thom Hartman the President hit one out of the pack. Indeed the President brought up a lot of key issues pertaining to his vision of America, and what he believes to be our comon image of America. I particularly liked the part about goal oriented medical care rather than the current fee per service approach we have to medicare. People should see maintaning good health as a job, just as teachers should be result oriented seeing their job to raise the academic capacities of their student. If either one fails at this they ought not to receive the same reward as though they did. However I don't think the President went far enough. Obama talked about "mutual sacrifice" and to insure this I would recommend the imediate repeale of last years 916 billion dollar tax giveaway. This would go a real long way twords cutting the deficet. The President said "Never again will I go along with the Bush tax cuts" but he campaigned on this in 2008 and look what he did. Another key thing I would do is to reinstate pretty stiff import terrifs on goods particularly from places like China, which routinely undercut our economic development here. But I agree the speech was a good start. Of course even Hartman admits the President won't get everything he wants. That's why I would have added to my list of things I want, because I would be negotiating from a stronger position with more to make concessions on.

However Stephanie Miller's radio program featured numerous callers attacking Obama's plan from the left. And who can blame them. The President may have kept his promise to escalate in Afghanistan and to push for Nuclear power. The President has us in Afghanistan and we have killed people in Pakistan with our Drones. And now the President has appointed general Mc Crystal to some high post on military families. Pat Tillman's mother doesn't like this in light of the deceptive way the military handled and manipulated her son's death. Also the President has not closed Guantanamo down, and the military trials for 9 - 11 will proceed. Of course you don't want to hear about scrapping the "Public Option" in Health Care any more. President Obama has a yellow streak down his back a mile wide, perhaps more than any other US President this side of James Buchannon before the Civil War. I don't blame those callers one bit for their disgust at President Obama. However I question whether it was the time or place for such calls because right now even if the President comes off as a total centerist, he's still suspect by the right wing. Their response to the speech yesterday reminds me of my family after I've made a number of changes in my life they wanted me to make, and they act as though I had done exactly the opposite. So I know how the President feels. He's dealing with economic terrorists holding this country hostage. Dealing from weakness is a real bitch. This is why I failed as a Christian because I approached them from a position of weakness, and they felt they could walk all over me. Polls suggest that only 54% of the citizens feel the taxes they pay are fair. That leaves a large discontent number. It seems 65% would like to see the government cur servaces. I'd like to talk to these people. I bet they don't live in this facility. And only 29% think it's a good idea to raise taxes on the top two or three percent. It's like Thom Hartman says. We've seen too many Fresh Prince of Bel Air episodes on TV and we all believe that could be us.

But that doesn't stop "Minister X" from saying that "all the president wants to do is to stop us from drilling for oil". Of course I confronted "Minister X" on the issue of the Clinton economy and how higher taxes were a good thing and all he said was "Well, I don't know". Well since he "doesn't know" and I do, shouldn't he defer to me? (Selah) Bill and Hillary Clinton need to come forth now and fight for the president' current plan. People use talking point campaign slogans such as "deficits cost jobs", and "federal spending costs jobs". This is nonsense. It's silly to say because of a 4% higher rate of a business owner he can't afford to buy a new bulldozer, for instance. This ignoramus in congress knows bulldozers are a business expense and can be written off and don't count as income. Another congressman produced a chart showing job gains under higher taxes with Clinton and job losses under lower Bush taxes. I've never heard a successful comeback to this reality from "Minister X" or anybody. Under Clinton the deficet was turned to a surplus and Bush threw it all away. Rush Limbaugh predicted in 1993 that in two years unemployment, inflation, and the deficets would all be up. All three assertions by Rush proved to be false. According to Rush Limbaugh "Anybody who would talk about the Bush tax shortfalls ammounting to Trillions of dollars would have to be a Socialist, because no American would think that way". All the Republican wax works appear to getting behind the Ryan Plan, and even Oran Hatch has gotten into the act. And I thought Hatch was moderating. Santaurum is now posturing for a Presidential run. We hear further hysterics from people like Dennis Miller who say "The lazy workers are just getting lazier and the bosses are the only people who work hard and now they're being taxed for it". Miller went on to talk about the Serengetti plain where "If you get wounded, you should be abandoned and not supported, and left to get eaten by some other animal". I thought Mankind had progressed farther than that in the past fifty thousand years. Others go on to call Woodrow Wilson the first socialist president, even though he threw Eugene Debbs in jail for only preaching his politics. Of course Franklin Roosevelt is routinely vilified. Apparently Roosevelt consulted with Stalin personally to best learn how to pattern the New Deal. And of course people on the right are always talking about "Class warfare". Well I've got a flash for you. There was a class war and we in the poor and middle class lost- - and the rich won. Not that these young Turk republicans like Paul Ryan are all that seasoned. You know they aren't. Like "Minister X" they seem to exhibit an apalling lack of economic history or knowledge. You know back in the early 1970's I watched KWHY channel 22 all the time on the stock market and the economy. I've seen all the fads come and go. These doom sayers of the right have been wrong more times than I care to remember. And yet people like Paul Ryan have their "talking points" handed to them by the Koch brothers or something. Somebody said they ought to be turned over the knee and spanked like seven year olds. I have a better idea. Put them in wood stocks and have them stand out by the curb and bend over so people can whack their butts as they drive by. I also rather like the idea of a bond fire on TV as Paul Ryan's plan is taken apart page by page and mocked and then wadded up and set on fire. And then the President can say something "Well, that's a way of producing alternate energy I haven't thought of". You know- - people at the tea parties used to say "No socialized medicine and keep your hands off of my Medicare". I wonder what all these retirees now think of Paul Ryan's plan. You know that's going to create a whole new class of old people with a new choice to make. Whether to have Allpo for dinner or Cycle Four. Apparently it would take thirty three old people donating six thousand dollars of their meager pensions to support the tax cuts of one rich person. It may come to that. I don't know what the economic future holds. Like I say we may have already gone past the point of no return, regardless of what we do at this point. But I'll tell you this. According to Randy Rhodes, Paul Ryan's plan "doubles down" on tax cuts for rich people. Apparently there is a fresh round of perks for the ultra rich. Because of this continuing short fall, Paul Ryan's plan will still show a budget deficet in the year 2040. I may not live to see another budget surplus in this country if he gets his way. It's scarey, huh?

You know I am getting tired of hearing these stories about no pizza for school at lunch, and no donuts and no soda and all of that. A lot of people even think dairy products are awful, so there go your ice cream and your sundaes. I sometimes wonder whether these food police are like certain guilt ridden Christian pastors who have secret sexual addictions so sex is all they can talk about, as if engaging in some sort of psychotherapy with the congragation. I'm tired of hearing about how smoking ruined your life, or some mercury vaccine they took off the market ten years ago gave your four year old autism. And the Nanny State never lets up. They won't approve any drug or even some health store herb, unless it passes their approval, even if the rest of the world is using it and is happy with it. And I think they are trying to discourage organically grown produce because they want to irradiate all of our food to kill off any potential germs and more importantly valuable enzymes in the produce. And after this at some point there will be some government mandated vitamin pill we all have to take. And Lord knows they don't want us using marijuana. Now the Republicans don't want woman going to Planned Parenthood for any form of medical help. Government appears to dislike the idea of confidentiality, or dealing with your own health issues privately. If the government is against something then we all have to be against it. Why can't the government be, shall we say, just a little bit less meddlesome. We hear now of corporations investigating the private lives of their employees or their clients, in case of health insurance companies. They want to regulate your weight and whether you smoke, and if you have diabetes it must be your fault, too. Some people want to have a thirteen hour school day like they do in Japan. Some say every hour of time even in a small child's live ought to be occupied with one program or another, as though this were communist China. It's funny all this is occurring, including the almost total bans on smoking in public in many places, this is occurring in light of a general conservative tide. I'm kind of a libertarian myself. I don't want the Nanny State running my life. But apparently many people associate the Nanny State as a part of their whole new conservative utopia.

Forced to Re-think Our Position on Libya

"Tell me what you're going to do when the shadow crosses your door"

"Tell Me what you're going to do when the Devil calls your bluff?"

"Tell me what you're going to do when you can't play God no more? - - - - - Oh, LORD what WILL you do???"

If you have ever watched the game show “Concentration” you know how it works. With every move you get two more squares of the picture to look at and try to figure out what it is. Only with this Mideast situation we are shown only what the media wants us to see. You or I have not traveled there to see for ourselves. So when the media spoon fed us propaganda that all the countries were toppeling like dominoes headed for democratic rule, people on the street were in almost universal agreement “Yes, there is an unstoppable surge tide of democracy in the mideast and a year or two from now we won’t recognize the place”. Given this flush of optimism, one would have thought that since NATO was enlisted in the cause of freedom, the favorable results would be all the more speedy. But is Dr. Phil is famous for saying, “How’s that working out for you?” Clearly the time has come for a major re-thinking of our Libyan policy. Now they are even talking about indroducing ground troops in Libya. This more is more than premature, if you know what I mean. There seem to be massive reversals in the Mideast not just in Libya, where they now have pro Kadaffy demonstrations as a common thing, but also in Egypt the “picture”, sadly, has become a whole lot clearer. Now the Army is attacking the same demonstrators it supported just a month ago. Clearly it is the Army who are running things now in Egypt and not “the people”. My friends at the Orion Federation were never in favor of our toppeling Kadaffy. Clearly his support is a whole lot broader than we were led to believe. There is still a lot of life left in this despot. It’s almost as if the past two months were like some opium induced dream, and now we are back to cold, hard reality. And I believe our foreign policy should again reflect this. We cannot sustain three simotanious ground wars in the Mideast. This would be madness. Maybe politics end at the water’s edge, but the economic costs of a venture, don’t. (Selah)

You know that circumstances may force us all to “re-think” the whole idea of an Obama dream budget where all of his favorite pet projects can be pursued as though we hadn’t a care in the world. Now Paul Ryan is on “Meet the Press” and Stephanie Miller doesn’t believe David Gregory pressed hard enough on tough questions. We know pretty much that what Obama did for health care in general, giving the greedy insurance companies compulsory new business to feed their already bloated coffers, but also other things like Medicare Part D are praised by the Ryan plan. Now Paul Ryan wants to privatize medicare so that old people can also “share in the blessings” of the machinations of the insurance companies, over-charging and ripping you off. Even Pat Buchannon says the Paul Ryan plan doesn’t have a chance of adoption. But it is a wake up call about the deficit reminding us that 6.2 trillion is more in the neighborhood of what we should be shooting for rather than the 38 - - Billion dollar cuts in the budget passed just last Friday. Of course let’s see if “Minister X”, whom we talked about in that previous posting, is as concerned about “Death Panels” now that there will be a lot more of them. Before it was a contest to see how much the federal government would spend on an elderly patient who was already pretty much terminal to begin with. This was indeed real waste as Sixty Minutes pointed out last year. But every private insurance company is in essence a “Death Panel” because there are things they won’t cover. The whole term “Death Panel” is one of those Tea Party words that assume two things. First that nobody ever need die ever with proper medical care. And secondly it’s “someone’s” responsibility (the Government?) to somehow insure that unlimited medical care is provided. The sad fact is that death is a part of living, and if you don’t like that, take it up with God. In terms of the doings last Friday the whole thing is a little farsical to begin with in as much as the funding only lasts for one week. Since congress isn’t scheduled to meet again till after Easter, somebody explain to me how that works. We are told that the agreed upon legislation is “being written up right now”. All of these economic gules out there from Judy to Dr. Levy to Thom Hartman to the gloom and doomsters in the Mc Laughlin group should have their cockles warmed to know that there will be a major change in the Federal Reserve policy so that they will actually have to pay for bonds just like everybody else after this self monetization policy is finished. As such interest rates will rise. They are still predicting another mortgage foreclosure crisis. Consumer confidence is down, as we reported previously. As such it’s hard to escape the conclusion that the economy will be will be almost as murky next year, in the fifth year of this recession, as it is this year, in the fourth year of this recession. And remember Dr. Phil’s saying, “The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior”.

You know a lot of times religious people will offer hope. And they will say things like “Well you don’t understand because you don’t see the whole picture yet” and they will tell stories about news that Wellington was defeated as a fog rolled in and obscured the rest of the semifore message. And you’ve seen those Simpson cartoons where there will be an inscription on some old relic and they will read it, but someone will blow off a little dust and see the opposite meaning, and someone will blow off the rest of the dust and see a still different meaning. But there comes a point where, as the Apostle Paul says mockingly to Timothy “Men are continuously learning and never arriving at the knowledge of the Truth”. So there indeed comes that point when you turn over a key couple of cards in the Concentration game where the message becomes clear at last. As Judas says in JC Superstar, “Why are we the prophets; why are we the ones, who see the sad solution- - know what must be done”. Not that a solution always has to be sad, but it would well be for some people, but not everybody. Some may say to me now “You aren’t going to engage in another of those long winded religious discussions are you?” Let me respond thusly. The reason why people hate religious discussions is the same reason why an impotent man shies away from having sex. The thought may cross his mind now and then but he’s physically incapable of carrying through with it. So it is with a lot of neutered religious discourse. They will start off with a question but the conversation will drift aimlessly from topic to topic and end up never accomplishing anything, though the conversation may go on for hours. So let’s keep it simple. Here is one for you. Does scripture say “With God all things are possible?” Also, “Do you believe God knows all things before they happen as Neil Savedra says on his show every Sunday? Well, both propositions cannot be both simultaneously true. I’d like to blow the dust off a few book titles myself, like the James Dobson one about “When God Doesn’t Make Sense- - - Get Him into Psychotherapy”. Christians bastardize words such as Faith, and Love, and Forgiveness, and Joy - - to meanings not found in the English language. Some may say to me “Well, God knows who will be blessed, because they are the ones who have the Faith to pay to him, and then God unlocks the floodgates of blessings that now fall on him”. Well, the key here isn’t praying with humility, or reverence, or earnestness, or sincerity or even intensity of belief that your prayer will be answered. Belief and Faith are synonyms in English but not in Jesus-speek. Faith has that unique ability to pull that rabbit out of a hat. Some like Dobson and others will say “Well God cannot do the intrinsicly impossible”. For instance God can’t make a three sided square. So if I “prophesy” to my Geometry teacher saying “I predict that the next square you draw on that blackboard, if you draw one, will be a four sided square”, I’m not exactly getting myself out on a limb. But you know- - hindsight is 20 / 20. For instance the Prophet Daniel in Daniel 11 can seemingly predict the “future” to great exactitude, though historians agree that his knowledge of his “present” is muddled and confused. But there comes a point where Daniel stops being accurate and starts making a series of “bad guesses”. What are we to conclude except that the writer in the 2nd century BC knew his time well, but even he had to guess (wrongly) about events that hadn’t happened yet? I’d like to conclude this paragraph with one more bit of puzzlement that just crossed my mind. We know that the disciples on Tuesday night came to Jesus in private and he told them all about the coming church age and how they would be persecuted but that on the Last Day thunder and lightning would occur to announce the arrival of Jesus and the Kingdom come to Earth. OK? Now let’s jump forward a couple of nights to the last supper. How come that now the disciples seem to be utterly unaware this conversation ever took place and are now back to asking him the most elemental of questions such as “Will you at this time establish your kingdom?” and talk about Mansions and floating off to paradise. They already knew in graphic detail that Jesus would not establish his earthly reign now. Questions like this are just another wake-up call. Just another of those many cards that Satan has been turning over for all to view. Just think: You’re that much smarter now.

I might as well go ahead and talk about what I was going to bring up in the last file. Some may wonder including “Minister X” why I’d attack so many sacred cows of Christianity all the time. But even in that expression therein lies the answer. Cows are for eating and not for roving around town stopping traffic and grazing on vegetables from the stands that are later sold to the population. You know, everything is fine in its place. Let’s talk about the Prodigal Son parable. I did that little “story” around the first day of summer of 1991 and later sent a copy to pastor Bill Halliday. When I next saw him in church a Sunday or two later, he seemed incensed. He didn’t even want to look at me. It was as though I had made some racial slur against him or something. (Though just how you racially slur White people is a mystery) Herein once again is the answer to our question. I had an almost subconscious fear of something happening, that was in fact already happening. Droves of people were leaving our church. This emigration of members is not even close to the normal pattern with new pastors. My fear was and is that certain Pastors with a certain “bent” in personality, will use this story to justify things which otherwise would be under suspicion. How many of you have seen that two part TV movie about Jim Jones? The first time I saw it I was watching how while a pastor of this Baptist church that prostitutes and drug dealers and gang members and who know who else were welcomed into the congregation and now comprised a significant part of it. The only thins is that these people were not loyal to the Bible, or the church organization, neither were they of the congregation. They were loyal to the pastor himself. They owed all the “grace” they received from the Pastor and the Pastor alone and don’t think they weren’t reminded of that at opportune moments. What I am talking about is the making of a Cult. There have been four Pastors in my life that fit this template. Two are liberals, Gene Scott and Jim Jones. Gene Scott flouts any sort of traditional piety or humility or reverence. He flouted his own denomination and fundamentalists in general, one hell of a lot more than I do. Eventually he left his denomination and became a religious entity unto himself. Like Jim Jones, he claimed to have secret “information” the other churches weren’t telling you. Like Jim Jones he would be hypersensitive to criticism. You see this sort of domineering, bullying behavior in certain types of husbands marrying certain passive types of women, who have a mutual sick attraction to each other. The other two Pastors are conservatives, so I’m not picking on either left or right. It can happen on both ends of the spectrum. One Calvary Pastor had a good church with good fellowship. But the pastor found this boring and flung open the gates and decided to be a Calvary Chapel “Kentucky Fried Chicken frahcnise”. In the case of Bill Halliday, it has become obvious he wants his own private sheikdom where he can rule the roost and make his own rules. Other than Neil Savedra (who might be even worse) there is no Christian pastor who’s theology is less what is taught anywhere, and I mean anywhere in the Bible. The thing is when you extend “grace” to someone it may not be yours to give. Did you ever think of that? Is spiritual regeneration getting right with God, or is it rather getting “thick as thieves” with the pastor? Hummm? But we see these parables in the Gospels which are stated in such extreme terms they aren’t really making the point you think they are. Take when Jesus was invited to a Pharicee’s house. Right in the middle of the gathering Jesus lambasts saying to him, “You didn’t give me the simple courtesies that are expected” and goes on to say how a prostitute, who wandered in uninvited, was more gracious than the host. How many of you know that you don’t tell off a host at his own party? Take the parable of the workers in the vineyard? If Jesus was going to pay the people who began working at five PM, the final hour- - why be so “in your face” about paying them first and making the ones who had gotten up early in the morning to find work- - have to wait in a long line until the others have been paid? Why is it that in extending grace to one person he is seemingly compelled to slam another, who may not be guilty of anything?
