I’m behind the
times. It seems that officer Darren
Wilson really was cleared by the Justice Department of any Civil Rights
violations of Michael Brown. It’s that “high
bar” thing we spoke of a couple weeks ago.
I was watching a thing on racial coverage and the Media- - on C-Span and
I recommend that everybody try and watch that.
The media’s game of course is to polarize and stereotype everything and
create more heat than light. Many didn’t
want to find out factually whether Michael Brown even HAD a juvenile
record. It seems that he didn’t, but the
common perception portrayed in the Media is that he did and therefore since he
did he “deserved” whatever poor treatment he got. It’s the John Kovel doctrine of “Well, the
guy is guilty of Something”. Of course
they pointed out that “We won’t stop till we kill a cop” is not what that Al
Sharpton crowd was chanting, but it’s what a FOX news station played. Needless to remind you that the Media does
not want to put out “The Facts”. What
the Media WANTS is to entertain slash indoctrinate us, and get us to “Tweet”
about completely pointless matters and clog up the internet. It is also pointed out that while talking about Rap Music in "The Media" they will show photos of these rap artists in their "role playing" patter lyrics. What they will NOT show is the White record executives who promote these rap artists. Remember that for a time even liberal talk Radio was propigated by Clear Channel, a conservative outlet - and they presented us well, because we were a money maker. After a while politics trumped even money of all things- and they all got the axe. In other news - - the new candidate for
Attorney General is another stealth conservative candidate. On all areas EXCEPT racial immigration, she
is a died in the wool NEO CON Bush Republican - - for instance on all matters
financial. In fact if anything she’s
worse than Eric Holder was. This is why
she is almost assured passage by a majority republican committee- - - because
people like Lindsey Gram know when all is said and done “She is one of us”. One blogger states that in order to work to
an age “at which he can retire comfortably” he’d have to work till he was 91,
and then he could retire comfortably. To
do that the average person would have to have a nest egg of 2.6 million, and
since the average wage earner only makes just over fifty thousand, if he put
every cent he made into a savings account, it would still take a hell of a long
time to get to 2.6 million dollars, if he could ever do it. It’s been pointed out that if Black people
are paid less, then they have less, or nothing at all to pass on to their
children. There was mentioned in that magazine I read that- - the average age
of the Accadamy Award people is 63 and they are almost all white and male,
which I find amazingly puzzling. It
almost seems that the Nominations this year going all Lilly White- - were part
of a move to appease the Republicans and people like Sean Hannity who say
Hollywood is dominated by liberals. I
sure used to believe that but compared to twenty or thirty years ago, the
Hollywood Community has been strangely mute on today’s issues. People
wonder than the Latinos, for instance will assimilate. I have rather profound doubts they will ever
“assimilate” into the sort of red neck people you people on the right want them
to be- - unless you are talking about “White Hispanics” like Zimmerman. In short, what they want - - is impossible.
I would now like to speak on the topic of "It Doesn't Pay to be Responsible anymore". It used to be you bought a house that went up five percent every year- - as a sort of enforced savings program, because you were building up equity. It used to be (and I had forgotten this) that by Law, banks had to pay five and a quarter percent on Savings Accounts. Remember that? But now of course bloggers are chastizing people between- - oh - - aged 55 to 65 who are at least Thinking of retiring soon- - and they lambast us if we complain "But we don't have any money saved up". It's reality check time. How many people reading this can remember when inflation was twelve percent (the "good old days") when your money really multiplied. Then there was Walter Mondale complaining in 1984 about "High real interest rates". So that was HOW long ago - - 31 years? Well, what if you haven't been working for 35 years? It was pointed out that what "The System" (for lack of a better term) wants is not being a "Quiet builder" of equity like the good old days. They are driving everybody to two choices- - either Starve, or become a really risky speculator engaging in all these Wall Street "debt instrument" accrobatics where maybe you "sell your loan" to others, which somehow makes you money. It kind of reminds me of the me and the Christian Church. Some may say "after spending years in the Church you have an investment that should be producing dividends by now". Allow me to quote from Job in the Bible. "I had nothing in spiritual assets when I came into the church, and I left with nothing". First let me tell you what does NOT matter to them. It doesn't matter how many good "personal references" you have or who likes you or what they say about you, who actually know you. It doesn't matter how many "decisions" to do good you make to improve your life Spiritually. It doesn't matter how much you think you may have "grown" or how much you read the Bible and can quote it. No. What matters is what the chief mucky-mucks of "The Church" think of you. What roots do you have in "The Organization". Some ask me, "When did you leave the Church?" Well, it was sometime between August of 1994 and maybe Easter of 2002, but perhaps - - the first half of 1997 is when I was developing major emotional problems in seeing myself still as a part of the Church. Make no mistake in what I am saying. "Wall Street" is not broke. Wall Street is awash in money. The United States is not broke. Our government is perfectly solvant, thank you. Who's bankrupt. You and Me are bankrupt, and collectively - - that's a lot of personal bankruptsy out there. If you listen to the media and watch their adds for just about Anything - - you'd get the idea that the average American - - earns a whole lot more than fifty thousand a year. That's all it is. And I don't earn that. Most of the ads you see are aimed at probably about the top twenty percent of salary earners - - and would have you believe THAT is "The norm". Of course these people in soap operas coming from rich families- - seem to have money to burn all the time and think nothing of tipping the bell hop twenty dollars - - or maybe fifty dollars. Obviously they travel everywhere in cabs - if not limozines. A hundred dollars in your wallet is just pocket change to these people. This paragraph is being typed Live. The previous paragraph is Memorex, meaning that I have an additional copy of it not in this blog.
