Just to Clarify A Number of Issues

So many people are either victims of illogical thinking, or they themselves under the issues clearly but exploit the emotional and illogical reasoning processes of others to manipulate them in to doing or thinking what they Want them to do or think.  Take Mitch Mc Conell on last Sunday’s show.  He came up with the statement of “The reason why the government wants the names of Donors to political organizations disclosed is so that the government can “go after these groups” and “shut them down” should the occasion arise.  But clearly the IRS statute states that these 504C or whatever groups- - are in that classification because they are privileged from the need to disclose donors, if their activities are exclusively humanitarian and social causes.  In other words- - what Mitch Mc Conell is suggesting and implying is that people somehow have a right to not disclose - -  in a category that even Citizens United says they must disclose.  In fact this was kind of put as a condition for their being able to donate to political causes to begin with.  Capish?  The issue here is secrecy- - which is a realm that rich corporatists love to operate in - - and somehow the American people, by Mitch Mc Conell’s reasoning- - have no right to be informed about.  The problem can be remedied by a Presidential executive order merely stating that the original IRS legislation as congressed passed it- - will in fact be the law of the land and the practice of the IRS.  Mitch Mc Conell wasn’t “wrong” in what he said 25 years ago in 1987; he was absolutely right.  This is a classification for humanitarian and service groups where you are permitted to deduct the donation thereto on your taxes.  The tea party however, thinks they have a right to deduct donations to overtly political groups- - and this is not the case.  But the media won’t even be clear about what the issues are.  They will not say that the IRS was inundated by new applications for this privileged status in 2010.   ABC news falsely stated that there was a biased tword auditing right wing groups.  In the first place these are not “audits” at all but merely applications for privileged status.  Next it is alleged or implied that these right wing groups did NOT get the privileged 504C status they applied for.  But in truth ALL of these groups obtained approval.  For the networks to suggest or imply that they didn’t is falsity on their part, and perhaps done because these big television networks are corporately owned.

One thing that strikes me around here is that he’s people like me who are almost out of cigarettes and hanging on financially month after month by a thread- - we are the ones that tend to be fingered or otherwise petitioned the most by the carrier moochers, and they know who they are.  This flies in the face of the axiom I heard from both Chuck Smith and Dr. Levy that goes something like “The Rich among us have discovered that - -Money really isn’t that important”, and Chuck Smith elaborates, “It’s the poor, actually, that are the most greedy and money-grubbing.  There is a Meme put forth by Judy that “Conservative rich people are always generous”.  You don’t have to venture far at all to disprove THAT one in a big way.   And to return to our original thought- - if it were true that the Rich gave more- - and also that the Rich has more to give and therefore they do, then logic would dictate since “people go where the hand-outs are” that it would be you-know’s office that would have the lines of people waiting for their special “favor” today - - and like I say, not people like me barely hanging on.  And then we come again to Neil Savedra’s remark about how we need Evil in the world because “It brings out the heroic and self sacrificing qualities of Good people”.   That’s a stupid idea but we’ll let it pass for now.  Neil Savedra claims to be the embodiment of Jesus Christ.  And if there is anything we knew about Jesus Christ is that he knew his Bible - - backward and forward.  Yet not one place from Genesis to Revelation where you find this meme about “Evil being necessary” being entoned, even vaguely, in scripture.  But we have a bigger problem with Neil’s bold assertion about “heroism”.   John Calvin takes his Total Debravity doctrine from a verse in the Bible.  The Bible states “There is none that do good, no not one”.  I guess the question now is – how can ANY human being therefore do anything “Good” on their own.  Neil is a great believer in will worship.  You can will yourself to pray, to go to church.  You can even will yourself to get saved to begin with- - and Neil has expressly stated “The Holy Spirit is not necessary” to a caller.  (not me)  In fact, you can even Will yourself to life long, loving devotion to a woman.  According to Neil- - it’s Will rather than Love that conquers all.  (Selah)

One thing that will stand out about President Obama’s tenure in office is his other lack of authority in Leadership.   He may honestly say “I never said I was against the sort of wars the United States engages in”  and so, as Washington’s Blog points out- - has out Bushed Bush as far as the number and pervaisiveness of government military adventures, particularly his stepping up of Drone killings of innocent civilians.  Now we hear the President is going to China next month to meet with the Chinese leader.  First of all I’m glad he’s actually doing something “Presidential” because he has come to be known as the “Campaigner in chief” making all of these pointless political stops pushing highly trivial matters and expending a lot of tax payer dollars in jet fuel.  We hear he’s going to talk about Cyber theft, and this is all well and good.  Of course it’s highly unlikely the President will speak against government sensoring of the Internet or the one child abortion policy, which amounts to government mandated extermination of fetuses.   It seems that China is almost unique among nations in being so powerful, and getting a virtual Free Pass on all the important issues that the rest of the world is bothered about.  Of course wholesale intimidating of news organizations is something the President is doing now, and it’s gotten to the point where prospective sources balk at talking to the Associated Press because they fear that Big Brother is watching monitoring their every move.  And they are right because the government is now in possession of an enormous number of digital data records, and some of us are curious as to what the government intends to do with all that.  Perhaps the biggest crowning failure of the Obama administration is the Affordable Care Act, which is the biggest “wet kiss” the health insurance companies ever got.  I have not heard one person around here or anywhere say “I’m looking forward to next year when Obama Care goes into effect”.  On the contrary everyone from the candle maker to your Aunt Mini is dreading the prospect.  Insurance companies are being jacked way up in advance of 2014.  David Cruise was talking about this today.  There is a wide variance in prices hospitals charge for services depending on what they can bilk out of the Insurance Companies.  I thought I heard David say that he could pay eight hundred in cash for a procedure- - or they could charge the Insurance Companies thousands for the same procedure- - which of course would jack up David Cruise’ rates.  That’s how it works.  The insurance companies don’t do anything for nothing.  David Cruise laments how these insurance companies make you jump through so many hoops it’s like negotiating a mine field.  And even getting a doctor is harder now because Doctors themselves are getting a lot pickier about which patients they choose to take on.  And on an almost daily basis we hear how this or that doctor or this or that employer- - is trying to avoid Obama Care.  If an employer has to reduce hours of workers to escape Obama Care then they will.  And now we hear the IRS has added four hundred new employees in anticipation of “trouble” down the line.  Callers on talk shows are dreading this hand in glove involvement of the IRS with their health care.

Eric Garsetti is clearly pulling ahead in the mayor polls in Los Angeles against Wendy Gruel.  He is advancing in all categories.  But he says "He's not taking anything for granted but is campaigning like he is twenty points behind", and also reminds us, "We've never had the massive funding of the other side".  Well I guess he's the under dog and everybody likes an under dog.  He is Latino just to make that official, and that explains why he does so well in the Latino communities.  Wendy Gruel on the other hand is highly confident saying 'A lot of absentee ballots have come in already" presumably when she was running ahead.  It is of note that all three of the other original five candidates- - are campaigning for Garsetti.

The tornado season is at maximum peak with “tornado alley” now occupying a vast north – south swath between Texas and Minnesota, and much damage has already been wrought in many plains cities.  Oklahoma City is the latest victim.  ABC news spent a considerable time on this one big tornado that struck a school threatening children.   They interviewed some of the children.   It got very dark.  This one tornado was on the ground for some forty minutes and cut a swath two miles wide.  We feature shades of green in our storm maps.  But over there they have yellow, orange, dark red, purple, and the worst is black.  There are two hundred MPH winds and it’s classified as an EF 4 tornado.  People say, "It reminds me a lot of the Joplin, Mo tornado".  Of course this rash of bad tornadoes over the past several days has been highlighted by a lot of big hail- occasionally the size of baseballs.

Since the dawn of time, mankind has wondered at the mystery of Life and his own existence and his own ability to perceive, reflect, and reason.  People wonder "Would I have any consciousness of my existance or senses at all without my body?"  People have for as long as mankind can remember- - believed in some sort of afterlife, and some form of supernatural creation.  Man has believed that there was some "period of the beginning" when the laws of nature were somehow different and the gods made themselves more manifest.  Of course in fair tales the "magic" is perhaps restricted to a certain geographical "Magical Place".  Christians and others nurse this "meme" or belief along that - - "You can't get to this Magical Place by ordenary means but of course Dying will enable you to go there.  I imagine people in tornadoes or places where they fear their iminent death are Afraid.  And they are willing to employ any device that will take that fear away.  Jim Morrison sang about "heartache and the loss of God" or that "loss" of that primeval Time. Christians carry on this tradition with the doctrine of dispensationalism.  I guess when it comes to God I'm more of a "Steady State" theorist myself.  And I have the Bible to back me up, saying that God does not Change.  Unfortunately a lot of theologians don't consider it to be in their own interest to allow their congregations to continue to believe this.

A lot of people have logic problems.  And it just might be fanned by those who want you to believe that there is no hope in pursuing a theory You may have - that the other person may have some vested interest in your failure.  Think about it.  Many as of late have quoted a state attributed to Albert Einstein of "The surest sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result".  I don't know, but the thought occurred to me that perhaps this is in the context of the special theory of relativity and the odd behavior of light which defies Newtonian physics.  Of course if you are measuring something such as, shall we say as "timeless" as light (of God) then the theory is reasonable.  At best it is an axiom used cautiously because so often you THINK all the circumstances are identical but various factors may have well changed from the last time you ran the "Experiment".   Carried to its logical extreme- - if there were some game of chance where your odds were one ten of winning it all - - - by Einstein's logic after playing nine times and losing you'd conclude "That's eight tries too many- - I know as a scientific truth that I will never win at this game".    I would close with this quotation I just came up with.  "You know, I'm looking forward to Hillary Clinton becoming President.  Because it will be the first time in fifty years that the Democrats have had a real Man in the White House".  (Selah)
